Baby, what a ride! Child born on subway platform

Sun Hee Paik was on the subway headed to the hospital yesterday when her baby decided it was time to enter the world.
Paik, her husband and their three other children got off the morning rush-hour train and she delivered her 6-pound, 4-ounce daughter on the platform of the Wellesley St. station.
"Now I'm okay, but I was so scared at the time. There were so many people and the trains going by," Paik, 38, said yesterday from the maternity ward at St. Mike's hospital, where she was released yesterday afternoon.
"My husband ended up delivering Mary Kim."
Paik's oldest daughter, 11-year-old Rebecca, said she was afraid her mother was going to die.
"It was scary, but I was happy to see my baby sister was a girl and she was okay," Rebecca said. "At first, she didn't cry right away, but my dad gave her air."
Jason Bonder was the first paramedic at the scene and his biggest fear was how cold it was in the subway.
"When I got there she was on the ground and the baby was on her pelvis. The birth seemed to be very quick," Bonder said.
TTC chairman Howard Moscoe said he's going to ask his fellow transit commissioners to give the baby a lifetime pass to the TTC.
"I would be tempted to recommend that the baby be named Wellesley, but that's up to the mother," he joked.
Witness Jim Burnett, executive assistant to Councillor Gloria Lindsay Luby, said that commuters were advised over a loudspeaker that a woman was having a baby and to respect her privacy.

Did you guys hear about the woman who gave birth yesterday at the Wellesley subway? I saw it in the news. She couldn't make it to the hospital so she just got out of the train and seconds later she was giving birth. Both mom and baby are okay.
WOW....KEWL!
I WANDER IF HER KID IS NAMED "WELLESLEY"

I got to Yonge and Bloor at 8:02 am, there were a lot of PPl waiting to go Southbound. I managed to push myself through to get on the train. I made it on time.
5-6 TTC worker were overcome by fumes while working on the subway line.....and then 3 fire fighters also were overcome by the fumes while trying to rescue the workers.....
They're all ok.....and will be fine.
