Fresh-faced, idealistic twenty-three-year-old Erin Gruwell (Hilary Swank) is ready to take on the world as she steps inside Wilson High School for her first day of teaching. Her class, a diverse group of racially charged teenagers from different walks of life -- African Americans, Latinos, Asians, juvenile delinquents, gang members, and underprivileged students from poor neighborhoods -- hope for nothing more than to make it through the day. On the surface, the only thing they share is their hatred for each other and the understanding that they are simply being warehoused in the educational system until they are old enough to disappear. Despite her students' obstinate refusal to participate during class, Erin tries various means to engage them on a daily basis.
It is a good movie and it is a true story so it makes you think big time. I am glad I am here and not in L.A.

The only reason why I wouldn't watch this (though I probably will) is that I made the mistake of watching that Michelle Pfiffer movie which looks A LOT like this one and it just pissed me off: same old story: pretty white chick comes to the ghetto and inspires loser black/hispanic/(insert your race here) kids who don't know that they can do something better with their lives. It just sounds like another piece of americana to me.
Same reason why I'm not interested in that movie either!!!
I TAKE IT ALL BACK... There. I said it. I was sooooooooo wrong about this movie. I watched it on Friday and it made such an impression on me. So NOT the Michelle Pfeiffer crap I was expecting. Very touching and all true. I loved loved loved loved absolutely loved this movie. I give it chorromil hispanics/cambodians/blacks/goodwhiteys out of 10.
Wow i can't believed u said that before, i saw this movie like 3 times, I also liked it a lot.

In my defense, I hadn't seen the movie before I opened my big trap. So I'm forgiven.

Didn't like Pirates. Wait for it on satelite or rent it.
Is that the final or is there going to be a part IV???
Is III just as long as II???
It's 3 hours long.
There could be a IV.....but not a guarantee. A lot of the plot was resolved....but I guess if they can extend a plotless movie like Rocky...anything is possible.
Bro the last Rocky was a gr8 movie.

Poor Princessa.
I don't think so
by the way she was the one that loved it and even cried

But anyway, like I was saying on that other boring thread () I watched a gay movie last night. Well, I watched parts, 'cause I fell asleep in some parts. I don't think the actors knew the movie was really, really gay. It wasn't marketed as a gay flick. But, boy, was it ever gay.
It's called 300.
VHAT??????
You have got to be kidding me!! That movie is soooooooooooooooo not gay! Just cuz it has sweaty buff guys running around in just their unmentionables and just b/c they are all willing to die for each and perfer the company of men over women, does NOT mean they are gay
Maybe it 'turned' Mr. Buffy.
Ay, MiMi, just because Dogo/Baina/McCo fell so easily for your enticing ways doesn't mean everyone will...

Saw Spiderman 3. I'm sorry, but i could have done without the extra cheese. Venom, on the other hand, was my favorite.
Overall: 2.5 out of 5

You know, new Bond guy... whassis name?? *snaps finger* *tries hard to remember* ***** it, googles it instead* *yes!* Daniel Craig! So Daniel Craig is in a much better movie- a definite MUST see! It's called The Mother. It's one mother of a movie, that's fo' sho'. Mmmhmm.
He probably IS a really good actor, but he's just sooo good in Casino Royale. Like I said, I'm not a big Bond fan, so I don't have much to compare it to, but it was just so much fun to watch. @ Yesi: No idea. I know it's a remake or something, but I dunno.

It's got a sweet story. The graphics are not top notch, but the story more than makes up for it. I loooooooooved it. I even cried... I'm such an emotional loser... Doesn't that suck to cry when people are around you giving you this look ??? Then they do this I refuse to watch "Titanic", "The Notebook", "Forrest Gump", "Gladiator" and any other movie (which is practically EVERY movie) in front of El Pibe.
Praise when you have kids you don't have two boys 'cause then you'll have three guys pointing at you watching those kinds of movies and going... at you.
