- are the benefits better with the offering company?
- is the offered job an advancement in your career?
- is the difference in annual salary over $5000?
- is the offering company more re****ble and useful in your resume?
If the answer is yes to at least 2 then it merits serious consideration. Otherwise it may not be worth losing the position you've established over the years.

Beside the fact that they are offering you more money, which apparently is not much more either, is the package better ? (vacations, personal days, health insurance, etc....)
Do yuo like the position you're currently in and the work environment ?
According to what you're telling us here, I won't take the other proposition if I were you and not because it is a bit further, just becasue the change does not sound interesting enough to loose your seniority

Lets say they offered you a job somewhere else then were you are presently employed. This new place offers you a bit more money then what your getting now...the job will be a little different then what you've been doing and the distance is also just a tad further from your house or apartment.... The place that you are currently employed...kinda sucks...much office politics, Jewish owners...and no guarentee of a raise any time soon as you just got one...but you are comfortable because you have senority and you can basically get away with murder sometimes....and you have a new supervisor that is cool, that gees out of his way to make you comfortable (giving you an office) enough so you wont quit cuz God knows he would no idea how to do your job. Should you take this new job offer or stay at the present place of employement..? What would you do?? confused:
If your comfortable enough of this new job, and that u are going to give it your best.....
Job security is a big issue.......If you know you'll be ok where you are now.....then stay.........for a little bit more money somewhere else.....it's not worth it.

Just take the new job, sometimes a change in life is good....
If it was just little bit more money I wouldn't change jobs. They would have to offer me alot more, hopefully double to get me to experiment in a new job. I've been in this position before, and so far I have not risked leaving my current company because they pay I was being offered was not much more.
