It all depends on the person ... personally, I know of 2 people that had like a 5 and more years relationship with someone and then out of the blue it's over and they felt like it was a waste of time ...
I hope not to get involve in a relationship like that but who knows la vida te trae sorpresas ...
I also have a friend who was with this guy for like 3 years and he kept promising marriage and she held on and one day he met this other girl, broke up with my friend, dated the other girl, and 3 months down the line proposed and then married ... NO DIGO QUE LA VIDA TE DA SORPRESAS
But today I am on a posting rampage dont know why ....Anyways...today FORO is actually exciting... So I would like to pose a question... Seeing that our society today is so busy and things have changed in the courting world, like for example...people are getting married in their mid 30's when years back to get married @ 25 was too old..older people having kids ETC... Do you think dating for 1 YEAR is short/long amount of time for dating? is it like the new 3 months?
I think that time is irrelevant....
whenever you feel like is the right is the time to get married....
cheers....

The only downside of being singhe is that I hate that I have to vacuum my own carpets and do my own laundry.
I am a great cook, but I tend to make quick and easy things because I don’t want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen. It would be awesome if some chick could just make my meals for me.
Finally, I hate that I have to walk to my fridge to get a beer. I tried keeping them beside the couch, but they got warm and there was no one to open them for me.

Yes....I'm complete Anti-Mariage....Not need to marry somebody...Let's face it.. being single is great- so much freedom to do everything on your own timetable without answering to anyone

I dunno.... You know, bottom line, it's really up to what both parties feels for each others. Don't torture yourself with that too much, there is no right answer. You walk you path and adquire knoledge that's it

Do you think dating for 1 YEAR is short/long amount of time for dating? is it like the new 3 months? Foro rule # 1 "answer your own question" Do you mean prior to pop up the question ? It really depends on the couple. I know some pple that after few months of dating decided to get married and it's been 5 years now and they still are as happy as if it was the first day. Others take years, etc.... Personnally I am a believer that you have to take your time and most importantly, if you're thinking about getting into something serious LIVE with this person for some times first and then, you'll see. Because dating, going on w-e or vacations with someone is wayyyyyyy different that sharing the same roof.
I think i just did...see above.. Sorry I didnt answer my own question first...

The people having kids (baby boomers) within the last 3 years I believe are people who have dated for at least 3-5 years before marrying or just having kids first...... 1 year is not enough dating, period. But to each his own.

1 year was like a lifetime in elementary and even high school. As an adult I don't think it's too much. If anything it's a good thing because it really takes time to know someone or atleast know if that person is the one for you.
