I remember seing his name on El Popular back in '87, He's always been involved with sports, benefiting the latino children community. He's responsible for making children and their parents feel welcome in a new country; back then it was hard to see latinos on the streets of Toronto, it's amazing how the community grew and kept together thanks to people such as Don Navia.
u know something guys I just saw him on sat the 21 when my son had a game and I was talking to him.. and then i heard he was dead i went to the wake yesterday and it was rammed he help out alot of kids in the hispanic comunities and he will be missed

He gave our kids something to do beside being out in the street . Thanks to him many kids had something to look forward to do on the weekend with there parents . R.I.P. Remberto Navia Un Senor en toda la Palabra !
Well said Ladyhawk i know a lot of friends that should give thanks to him for giving them a place to play on the weekend and stay out of trouble !!!!!

Maybe you guys can ask Genie ....who was in charge of the Drifwood Community Center in the past with all the hispanic Events. Can i just say Copa El Popular and you think of him , he passed away this weekend and he will be missed........... Ask any grupo de Folklore ...Pichincha,Tunguragua,Cuscatlan or cualquier equipo de niņos ....y ellos mencionaran su nombre. Our prayers are with his family ...-- Edited by ZIPOTE at 01:22, 2006-01-25

Nunca he escuchado del seņor pero de tal manera. He seemed like someone very active in the latin community. God be with him and his family...
Apparently his viewing is until Wednesday night, and the funeral on Thursday. He was very active in the spanish community from like the early 80`s to early 90`s. I even heard from a friend here at work that there was some kind of special on him by Jojo Chinto yesterday on City TV. I missed it.
