Hola todos! This looks like it might be interesting, especially for those who are affecionados de Neruda (the real one). And its free! Il Corsoby Theatre Pan-Optikum February 3 & 4, 20067 - 8 pm FREE!North American Premiere!Currently the most performed open air production in Europe, Il Corso is a visually stunning theatrical spectacle featuring actors, acrobats and musicians performing amid pyrotechnic effects. Highlights include a wall of fire, dancers on 10 ft. sway poles and huge metal structures including a human propeller. The production combines dramatic movement, installations, music, text, huge expressive images and pyrotechnics. Nathan Phillips Square will be transformed into a 360° stage, with the spectators continually changing positions as they are caught up in the movement of the show. Inspired by the thoughtful verse of Chilean-born, Nobel Prize winning poet Pablo Neruda, the characters tell a story of the quest for happiness. From the Book of Questions, Neruda’s short poems raise hundreds of playful questions, many of which echo the complex questions children often pose exposing the fact that adults cannot explain everything they claim to know.Leaders of German theatre culture, the Pan-Optikum ensemble consciously strive to artistically blend action theatre with subjects taken from literature, classical theatre and opera. In March 2005 Theatre Pan-Optikum was awarded the Culture Prize of the State of Baden-Württemberg for its work. for more detail see: www.toronto.ca/special_events/wintercity/shows.htm-- Edited by neruda at 15:54, 2006-01-23
