The more controversy you create, the more publicity you get, the more your records sell... so its money for the artist.

Speaking for myself I can say I wouldn't be influenced by 50, or have ever been influenced by any artist in a negative/positive way. They do what they do and that's fine. Like someone here said earlier they do what they are paid to do, and in some cases like 50 and most rappers it's all an act. When rappers wanna be hard they tell they're gansta stories and act hardcore, when they are facing charges they say it's entertainment.
Perfect example is the Murder Inc trial if anyone followed it.

Artists are just doing what they are paid to do, and thats to entertain.  Its up to the people listening to them to decipher if they will take what they say literally and as absolute truth, or to just take it for entertainments sake.  Some people are really impressionable and dont know how to distinguish truth from entertainment.  These are the people that it is negatively impacting.  But for the other half of the population that are just entertained by it... nothing more.

I THINK HE'S REFERRING TO TEENS HERE......AND NOW IN DAYS TEENS MAY SEEM MORE MATURE, BUT THEY DON'T KNOW SHHHHH......THEIR ACTIONS ARE IMMATURE.....AND NO MUSIC DOES NOT PLAY A SOLE ROLE IN THEIR BEHAVIOUR.....

OMG girl...........i looooovvvvveee u're Avatar!! U're a joker!! LOL!!!

BTW, I think that it might have some impact on teens, but they are old enough to understand from right and wrong. A lot of times peer pressure is a factor on what teens do. Nobody should get banned just cause some people don't like what you say in your songs. This is a business and that's how entertainers make their money!!

I beg to differ... I think culture and the media play a HUGE ROLE in what we listen to.  Nowadays, artists, music and shows are shoved down our throats that we really feel compelled to pay attention.  Regardless of whether we like certain artists or not, they are apart of our "pop culture" which is why we're discussing it right now... no?

Canada trying to BAN 50 only increased his popularity or I should say increased interest in his music.  I'm sure many people who never heard of 50 (you know the ppl living under rocks), were curious and looked into what the hype was about.

anyhooo.. WELCOME ANNONIMUS (or someone that is already a part of foro and has decided to take on a new alias) either way WELCOME!

LOL!! I was gonna say yes I think

I think that any impact that teens get from artists is the impact they allow ... I mean the understand right from wrong ...

And no I don't think anyone should be banned, I mean if a child is under 18 their parents should step in ...

Just an opinion

BTW ... Hi Annonimos!

no because its the youths choice to listen to the music or not...they're makin money off their music...although i do not like 50 cause he's por-bush and because what he sings about is so irelevent to wat is goin on around the world. its pretty ridiculous that all the things hes been through hes still ignorant enough to sing about cars, money, ****es, hoes, and all the other bull ish he sings about and yet be so famous for doing wat he does.

the thing is that no one is forsin the kids to listen to a certain type of music...so if they wanna become how the artist is then its not the artist's fault.

the thing about canada wanting to ban 50 from this country was pretty ridiculous because jus because someone is ban from a country does not mean that kids are goin to stop listenin to their music or acting like they act. it was a ridiculous thing to even think about in my opinion because an artist as big as 50 will always be known.

I think teens (specially suburban teens) have an adverse impact on artists such as 50 Cent.
