I have that problem here at work! I just told him how i felt, i only see him as a friend. I don't want to ruin our friendship. He took it alright. That was in the summer time. But he stills tries his best to do the nicest things for me, here at work. He basically does whatever i tell him to do, but he knows i don't want anything more but just friendship. Two days ago he invited me to Red Lobster and i said no. I don't want to give him hopes, so i won't socialize with him outside of the office.

I learned the hard way never to hurt someone else's feelings when it comes to this. In secondary school I had a crush on this guy and then he liked me back. But my friends started to tease me about it and so I let the peer pressure change my mind.
Then at a school dance he wanted to have a picture taken of his group of friends with my group of friends and I refused to be in the pic. The reason was because I haaated fotos, I really, really hated them back then. I'm just barely accepting the fact that I'm not photogenic and don't mind pics anymore. Anyway, I didn't give them any explanation for not wanting to be in the group pic. Then one of his friends suggested that just him and I be in the pic. I refused with such disdain that the guy just ran off in tears. I felt soooo bad afterwards. I always wanted to apologize but I never mustered the courage to do it. That happened when I was 14, he was probably 15. I'm sure he's moved past it but I still have the guilt.

I would tell them exactly that....I would tell them that my feelings are not the same...I think that hurts much less than running away....
