Unless it becomes a problem for the website as such, I think it is really good for el foro people what god and others have been doing with pictures and all. I would encourage all to, if possible and web-like advisable, post your travel pictures for all of us to see and learn.
On the other hand, I was really moved by the story of the fire at the cathedral. Welders! It was the absentmindness of some welders who were working on the roof what brought this beauty down.
Honestly, it is not that cold here. Yeah, yeah, I have heard about your Toronto 4 degrees, but if you consider that over here "it should be" -25 at this time of the year... well, it's warm alright.
And I also met some latinos here. I'm told there are around 200 in the entire province of Manitoba (too darn cold, I guess) and at least one of them, Mauricio, desk manager at the Place Louis Riel and a mexican by birth, is quite a nice guy.
Oh, and pupusa lovers on their way to Winnipeg? Worry not. There are 2 restaurants in town, at least, that serve those and other latin american treats.
Portage and Main? Bah! The cold at The Forks? Bah! But the sights are really nice. Here are some of one of the two roman catholic cathedrals in town (St Boniface, a french congregation, and St. Mary, an english one). St. Boniface's cathedral burnt half a century ago. Today, its majestic ruins embrace the new, modern designed, smaller, cathedral.
Nice pictures Leo. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your stay in Winnipeg!!
