NDP is short for NEW DEMOCRATIC PARTY. I think your confusing them with the CANADIAN COMMUNIST PARTY.
@ Lady Bug & Confu
Here's the short and sweet on the top parties:
PC - Blatant Capitalists, Corrupt, defendors of Free Trade and big corporations at all costs. Opposed to gay marriages. Do not support the arts (have already promised to cut FACTOR and other artist related grants)
Liberals - Not so blatant Capitalists but other wise very similar to the PC and just as corrupt. Been in power for the last 12 years.
Bloc Quebecois - Seems like their only goal is to separate Quebec from Canada.
NDP - The closest thing to a socialist party Canada has seen.
Of course, this is just my point of view. Check out their websites and see which one of their sales pitches best appeals to you. While you're on their sites, look up your local candidates.
I'll have to admit...I've never excercised my right to vote. I've never looked into politics nor do I know what each party represents. Guess I feel irrelevant even if I voted..

You want me to vote PC?, I said already that PC would be best for me since I work and pay property taxes ( they claim they want to cut the g.s.t). I know that we the little guys always pay for any good we get, the money has to come from someone and is usally not from big businesses. As I said, I wish there were more options.
The NDP ,on the other hand, tends to work for the wellness of most people, usually the working class and the needy.

Pardon my ignorance on this matter.... But can someone pls sum up what each party represents.... I'm really not into this and I don't do my research, eventhough I should.... So can someone unbiasedly enlighten me....please.
I think the PC party (Progressive Conservative) party represents or works for the well to do in society, in Ontario Mike harris voted against youth programs, and several kinds of support for the less fortunate; I think that as a result we see more crime,e.g: shooting among young desperate ( who have probably lost faith in the system) people.
The NDP ,on the other hand, tends to work for the wellness of most people, usually the working class and the needy. Unfortunately, the last time they won a provincial election, they raised taxes in order to provide for so many services, and people like the working poor were hit by those taxes. (it's kind of contradictory, but that's how I feel about it).
And then we have the Liberals, I think they are somewhere in between the other two, that's why most people vote for them, including me the last time.
I think they are too corrupted and have become indifferent to what the population think, I usually vote NDP eventhough I would benefit from tax cuts offered by the PC party since I work and pay property taxes. I believe the goverment must invest in youth in order to have a better country in the future.
I wish there were more realistic options but that's all we have.

THAT WOULD MAKE TWO OF US......

But he's also really sad and bummed by your comments. Now he's going away.
