I get this list of women looking for romance but I don't wanna use my credit card to make contact with them; anyways, when I like a chick and read her preferences I find that the salary range they expect from the guys is well beyind my means. To hell woth all gold diggers, Well, I survive on home remedy for now.
I like chatting and in certain way "meet " ppl through the net,. but my first experience was here in TH,... dating not sure about it,. but it s a possibility,.. i would try it,. i like having a virtual life,. virtual friends,. etc,.. claro uno siempre tiene que estar con cuidado ,. imaginate si conoces a algun sicopata,. asesino,...there have been several cases of ppl with bad experiences meeting pppl throughthe net,. and some of them haven't live to tell the story,..
I don’t really feel comfortable meeting people from ONLINE… full of creeps… went to a FORO Gathering once… met Genie, Afro, Confu, Gita, Chale ++ … was enouth to scare me off for a good few months… Then I thought to myself… maybe not all the people online are soo bad, so I gave it another chance… then met LadyBug, Joker, Colo, Miguel, Fea, Princessa, etc, etc… BUNCH O’ FREAKAZOIDS… scared me away for good… I now stay away from Foro Gatherings!!!
LOL!!! you sure you got scared or them ... I still gotta meet you all ... give another chance LG
It was my first time ever browsing a Toronto site, and saw pictures of some familiar faces. So I had to sign up to see more members photos. I came across an interesting profile and picture....to make a long story short....we've been dating for awhile now, and it's beautiful. I still can't believe I met him from a website. I think it's called LatinSinglesConnection.

Ya, I know... but the person you meet for the first time at the club market library, you also have never seen before in your life, so what's the difference? And yes, you might get a lot of the Asses trying to mislead you, but I guess you could've thought the same thing about me, or I could've thought the same about you, before meeting each other, no?.... and I'm sure you've also been dissappointed by people that you've met in "person" at a club, library or market. So I don't think there's a HUGE difference So i think that, yes, you have to take your chances and weed out the a-holes I'm not saying it's better or worst... it's just another way of meeting people
I've met a lot of people on the internet. I have a lot of friends in Mexico that I've met that way. Out of all those people, I've just had one bad experience.
The guy wasn't a creep or anything, he just had an anger management problem. He could lose it sooooo easily. He had a pretty ****ty life as a kid. I had a huge fight with him. He even got into a fist fight with one of my friends in Mexico but he's a nice guy underneath it all. We're still friends.
@ DOGO I'M NOT SAYING IT'S A WRONG OR RIGHT SITUATION... I JUST WANTED TO HEAR YOUR IMPUT ON IT... BY THE WAY...I LIKE YOUR AVATAR...SANTA IS LOOKING KIND OF SEXY -- Edited by PRECIOSA at 23:14, 2005-12-08
ya same here, I don't know if it's the ideal way to meet, but it's not a terrible way to go about it, just part of our society evolving I guess...... and it's just the tip of the iceberg, I think online dating will be 100 times bigger than it is now
Yeah!!!Santa Rulezz!!! LOL!

NOT TOTALLY TRUE...WHEN YOU MEET A PERSON AT A CLUB, MARKET, LIBRARY YOU HAVE SEEN THEM FACE TO FACE AND YOU HAVE AN IDEA WHO THEY MIGHT BE...NOW ON THE INTERNET YOU DON'T...THEY MIGHT SHOW YOU PHOTOS OF THEM BUT THEN AGAIN ARE THEY SHOWING YOU THE REAL DEAL OR A FAKE...I GUESS YOU HAVE TO TAKE THAT CHANCE...RIGHT...??? You are totaly right. And I am so glad I took a chance here and met foro people.
How ironic, most of us did meet over TH (thru internet).

@Dogo..I think you read my mind. Because that's exactly what I was thinking.
Well, I voted for the last option. Although I don't really hate it, I wouldn't try it. I have nothing against it, and I think it has its own market, it's just not for me. I find it much more thrilling to meet people by accident/coincidence, rather than in a planned environment.
My thoughts exactly here. I would never ever try it.
Plus you never know who might be on the other side of the computer.
No i wouldn't try it!! You never know who you might meet. I'd rather meet the person through friends, work...etc.
Back in highschool my friend did try it, and the guy ended stalking her. When she ended the friendship, he would come around after school and wait, just to see her.
LGigolo wrote: @Daeweed: BULLSH!T you want it for the record... you want to go find them cocaine girls to shoot up/snort together!!! LMAO I don't do coke.
You should try it… COCA: It’s the Real Thing!

I HAVENT TRIED ONE, BUT I WOULDNT rule it out of the question i mean there are some genuine ppl on there and some that are really interested in meeting ppl i assume
My mother tried it how ever for her she thought it was ok but nothing ever came of it she wasnt too serious on it i guess!
I have had friends that have met on Lavalife and are now married with kids and are as happy as ever! So too each there own
I would probably try it just to see who i meet but no need too i love my messican!

Exactly! I love the internet! I not only met my husband throught it, I also got my two cats through petfinder.com and my friends through TH. What's not to love about it? Sure you'll meet the freaks and the wannabes. (neruda, hello?!) but I think you just gotta be smart about it.
I guess it would unfair of me to get everybody'e elses opinion and not give my own. Yes a few years ago I did infact try one and my experience was terrible. From my experience, i came to a couple of conclusions (understand that its based on a very small sample). 1. People are not who they say they are. 2. There are some scary/creepy people out there 3. All the pretty girls seem to enjoy cocaine (not my cup of tea)
Just for the record...which one(s) did you try?? Might be a good reference for people who might want to try it in the future to stay away from those...

Never used one. I personally would not and I have no good reason for saying that I just wouldn't. I find it kind of odd. I would rather meet by being introduced or something like that. I do know a lady at work that met a guy on line and they are married now so I guess it could work.

I thought I would depart from usual "gadfly" role and have a little fun. Although I did a quick search and didn't see this as a prior topic, I'm pretty sure it'll be D.A.R.T.ed. But here goes anyway. Have you ever used an online dating service? If so tell us how your experience went. If you're against them tell us why.
