I understand what you ladies are saying, but I will **** and complain about these type of people until I turn blue in the face, and until I no longer will hear or read their ignorant comments. I may quote them, but may not only be dirrecting my comments to them, but to others aswell. Like I said in a different thread it only takes one dumbass to poison the rest of the world, but it also only takes one person to make a difference in the world. Just like you may have your ignorant racists to put down a certain race, you also have to have those who will defend those who are being attacked, and embrace their culture more, and that is who I am. I may not be getting through to them now, but who knows what the future holds, and I strongly do not believe that there is NOTHING that we can do to help solve this problem. Perhaps we may not know the right way or the proper way to deal with these type of people, but I do know that one way is by speaking up and standing up to these people. To me racists are just bullies who lack self confidence, and pick on others to make themselves feel better about who they are. I also do not belive that these type of people will never change, and I don't believe this, because my father was the biggest racist that I ever knew, and he changed to my surprise. He now has many good friends from many different races, blacks included which was the race that he disliked the most. So if my father can change his ways I am more then sure that others can do the same. I can always pray and hope for the best. You know that saying "NEVER SAY NEVER". We won't know if we can't truly solve this problem, unless we try first, and by sitting back and allowing others to be attacked is just another way of saying that what these racists do is fine, and I refuse to let them get off the hook that easily. This is just something that I will not put up with at any time or any place.

I think we the little guys can't do much really. The big decisions come from above, from the top honchos, most of as even here in Canada are just numbers, and that's what my canadian co-workers tell me. I think most of us here worry about having a job in order to have a decent pension. WHo wins the election doesn't change most things for the little guy.
MOst of us look for happinnes by buying our houses (pay mortgage, the bank is the one who owns it really), buying cars (and we pay car insurance), buying clothing and food, and we spend most of our youth paying for so much "happiness" that we enjoy it so little.

I remember not having ID in many countries mean death,as simple as that. Back home our ID even has a microship and the ID holder type of blood, plus a computerized picture, and all our fingers prints are taken and store, you need this ID even if you want to do a bussiness transaction, don't you think that's a bit too much?.
By the way, in several latin american countries police even kill street children, I don't think they bother asking them for their ID's.

Well, first of all I would like to set the record straight, I DO NOT hate or have contempt for black people, furthermore I have the fortune of having several black friends, all of them excelent and fine persons. The "Black People" I was refering to were those so called "gangsta" tipes. Yes, the ones that go out there and shoot and kill their own folk. I know that there are people that do just that and belong to all kinds of ethnic backgrounds, but in this case the topic was "people" like that dumbass 50 cent, who prey and cash in at their own folk's expense. Maybe my choice of words was not the wisest, and for that I do apologize to whoever got offended. "It sucks to be black" was not meant to be a racist comment, but just a fact of life that occurs all around the world. I have enjoyed every second and I will continue to do so. I have friends that dear to me that live in Cuba and don't share your opinions in the least. I think it's safe to say that we will never agree on certain issues and it's best we leave it at that.

I have been to Cuba a total of 13 times. I have seen the cops stop both black and white cubans to ask them for I.D. On both my trips back home to Chile my cousins were asked for their I.D too so it's not uncommon in Latin America. This doesn't just happen in Cuba. From what I have read and learned and experianced in Cuba rasicm was a much BIGGER problem before the revolution. I used to only hang out with locals in Cuba and I look like I could pass for a Cuban....I have been asked for I.D there on more than one occasion ...usually when my hotel braclet was not visible and I am not black.

Well, I remember being stopped and searched by police and army men, I'm not black( not too many black people back home), my crime was being a student. I was lucky I never got beat up with their rifles, other guys weren't so lucky as they were beaten on the spot and others taken and shot in the city outskirt.
Many times they were under the influence of drugs dispensed in their food, the levels of savagery were immensely raised; women,children, and old people were in many cases no exception.
Yes my friend, whenever you have a chance travel down to latin america, don't just compare the cuban system to this first world country. It's like comparing apples to watermelons.
