SO far I've never been in that situation, I hope if I ever get married I'll stay that way for the rest of my life. I probably wouldn't have the energy nor the patience to go for a divorce. There are better things to do, like fishing.
Maybe your friend has a point , to start all over after 30 years....not easy too much to carry on
It's a tough thing to put yourself into. I know my grandmother didn't want to be with my grandfather after so many years but she stayed with him. Up until Death Did Them Part.
I was with someone for 3 years and the moment they cheated I left. I pulled myself together, rebuilt and carried on with my life and now remarried. But that was just 3 years. I wonder if it would be the same for someone after 30 years.

What about those of you who have never been married, what's your take on getting a divorce? Say you've been married for 30 years, would you consider a divorce or just thrown in the towel and say "ahhh what the heck? what's another few more years" I had a debate with a friend of mine who says she sees being married for 30 years and then getting a divorce as a waste. Deal with it and don't bother with the divorce. What do you all think?

The time of marriage doesn't matter,. u can rebuild ur life with someone else,.. and for me the Divorce are just papers,. legal procedures,. if ur marriage is over ,.is over,. u can't do anything about it,. u need to seek for ur happiness,..

it goes way Beyond that.....but Way Beyond that after the big D your perception changes, you don't see love on the same way....

LGig, unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. We have that thing called "Common Law Marriage". After living with someone for 3 years, you're basically married by law. The problems and issues are the same whether or not you sign a paper.
What about those of you who have never been married, what's your take on getting a divorce?
Its unfortunate when a couple gets a divorce, but sometimes things just dont work out. No one can shake a finger at it, b/c no one knows what goes on inside a marriage except the two people involved.
I really cant say much on it, seeing as to how ive never been married or divorced. But I would really hope that the person I marry is my soulmate for life and that we can work out our differences and make it work together.

no matter how many years you have been married...if it's over it's over dont waste you time nd your partners time.

Como dice Dr. Phil, there's nothing worse than being in a bad marriage for 30 years than being in a bad marriage for 30 years and one day. I'd say more, but I'm still on chapter one of that book, so I don't really know what it means. I'll get back to you on that one.
