First Young Latinas/os FORUM

Preventing Violence and Promoting Healthy & Equal Relationship.

Under the Slogan:  “Let’s construct a Positive Environment: LET”S TALK ABOUT EQUALITY”.    MUJER is organizing the First Community FORUM on November  26th, 2005 on Violence Prevention. This Forum is partially financed by the Ontario Women’s Directorate and supported by the two Boards of Education, TDSB and TCDSB and many other community agencies, groups and many volunteers.   At the Forum, we will have workshops, round table discussions, children programs and youth presentation, and information.

Goal of the forum

To engage the  Latin American community, in discussions and awareness raising on violence prevention and building healthy relationships.  An emphasis is to be focused on youth aged of Latinas/os ages, 15 to 24. 

The event will feature a roundtable with city and school board representatives, as well as Latin American community leaders, as well as workshops for young people who will discuss their views, the challenges they face, and their proposals for stopping the violence.
