What stereotypes of the middle east did you have??? They are some of the wealthiest people in the world. Did you think they all lived in sand dunes and rode camels????
Don't get your nose too brown there buster..lol
Naw, at first I thought the middle east was what I kept seeing in government run news networks. You never see them talk about beautiful hotels and the MALLS. They're always showing rundown downtown shots of blown up buildings and such. I went to Dubai actually thinking that the hospitality was gonna be shiat 'cause we were "westerners"...but I loved it very much. Beautiful culture! We stayed at this Hotel that had a HUGE pool in the penthouse...so that the sun burns you up nice!! Clubs were very different though. When we performed at a couple clubs, it was mostly American Troops (latinos) and South Africans.

Picture a mall made of brass and marble with 9 - 10 storey statues at the main entrance. They have better technology there than we do here. Also, and when you go to their main street equivalent to our Yonge St, they roll in Mercedes and Jaguars...not like the soued up gino hondas we see here. OH and the food is soooooo good! LOL, there are sand dunes and yes, there are camels but only if u go to da touristy areas! Believe me though, the middle east is by far an undiscovered paradise by North Americans...u think Dubai is great, Bahrain is even betta...smaller island, perfect weather, NO TAXES, palaces, Dairy Queen CHILLI DOGS (sooo amazing there!), authentic shawarmas, architecture, and oh yes, the get to see the sheikh gettin kissed on national tv!
I was still a little kid but I have incredible memories of the colours, the smells, the lifestyle. A whole different culture, Bouddist temples and mosque (mezquita, I think). It was an amayzing trip. I hope I will have a chance to go back one day

Amsterdam. The canals; beautiful. Anne Frank's house; broadening, humanizing. The red light district; surreal. There was a guy selling all kinds of drugs like he was in a market in Latin America. It was crazy. Only thing I didn't like about Holland is that I felt like a fat midget there.

I have been fortunate enough to travel a little bit...... Venezuela, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Las Vegas, L.A., various small cities in the states....and of course....Panama. FOR ME......I'm not into the whole resort thing....I like to go into the cities and see the 'real' people...their life style, etc...... What's the best place you've even gone for vacation, business, whatever....What did you like about it?? What did you hate??? PLEASE TRY TO NOT SAY THE CITY YOU OR YOUR PARENTS WERE BORN....THERE IS A NATURAL BIAS FOR THOSE PLACES.....SO TRY TO THINK OF A PLACE THAT YOU'RE NOT EMOTIONALY ATTACHED TO.
