Since your looking for a laptop I would recommend you going for a Centrino processor. Due to it having built in wireless capabilities, its better on battery life, and Centrino laptops tends to be lighter as well. Check out: http://www.intel.com/products/centrino/ for details. Centrinos tend to be a little more expensive but then again you pay for what you get.
I would stay away from Celeron, with the money you spend on that, just pay the extra and get a Pentium or AMD. As for the toss between Intel and AMD. It's like comparing eg. Nike (Intel) and Adidas (AMD), both are known as good manufacturers but Nike is promoted widely and sponsored a lot more. Thats the same scenario between Intel and AMD. Ever since AMD has released their 64 processors it has taken out some of Intel's top processors.
