If ur feeling a little like medieval romance two picks come to mind: Tristan (heard good things about the movie) by Gottfried von Straussberg and The Arthurian Romances by Chretien de Troyes...has one of the original stories of the Holy Grail

Most interesting book i've read to date has to be Dante... some of those canto's are really descriptive and imaginative especially when he's walking through the gates of hell!

El Mio Cid is another interesting book with tones of archaic spanish words;very hard to read but interesting yeap.

THey already tried the book club thing but I don't think they were very successfull. Right now I am finishing "Harry Potter - Half blood Prince" (I know, I know, but it is not so much ofr kinds now and the book is good) and stating the A Year in Merde because as I've said, I could'nt resist so I've been lauguhing for the past 15 minutes.

I recomend this novel price : "EL Senor Presidente".  I really liked this book, I read it so many many moons ago.  It's author won a Novel Price for this book, HE was guatemalan, and I think his name was Miguel Angel Asturias. This work is about political life in 1940-50 Guatemala, it is sometimes crude when discribing situations, you can even smell odours as they are narrated  in the book.

Another book I remember is " La Tia Tula", I think the writer was BEnito PErez Galdoz ( COlombian).

ANd one of my favorites for easy reading and highly emotional end is " MArianela", I don't remember who wrote it but it's a very sentimental kind of literature.

BUt of course, my favorite book is "FAusto" de  Goette (German).

I thought about it, but then i realised it blends with the white background, making it impossible to discern between background and no; and being the background a fundamental part of the document, I didn't want it getting lost or overlooked.

Daeveed, you have WAAAAY too much time on your hands.
I never knew there were so many genres. I think the survey will turn the five prospective members off, so we'll just go with: Answer Yes or No: would you like to become a member of our book club?
We'll also keep the question about the drinks at the end. I liked that one.

First thing to do after we gather the prospective members is to run a short survey in order to focalize the genres we are going to cover.

Once we've done this, we could gather either top sellers, most popular, or cult writers of the genres in question, and we could start with those ones.

Okay, Daeveed, since you're good with the logistics (whatever that means) you set it up... Or you, Chale, 'cause you have the "touch" with most members... So far we have 4 or 5 members in our Book Club. Who should we start with (I mean authors)?

On a more serious note, I would recommend The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton.  It’s a book about financial planning that we all can try and do to ensure ourselves of a better financial furure/retirement.

The book's own website http://www.wealthybarber.com says: "The Wealthy Barber by David Chilton has accomplished a "publishing impossible" by selling over 2 million copies in North America. More than ten years after it was first published it still appears regularly on bestseller lists. The reason for its sustained popularity? It provides financial education in an entertaining and understandable format.

The Wealthy Barber's impact on North Americans has been nothing short of amazing. Maclean's magazine reports "...30 years from now Chilton could be best remembered not as a bestselling author, but as the man who inspired thousands to save their way to prosperity." Your Money adds "Chilton has probably motivated more people to take actual control of their personal-financial lives than any other speaker or writer has in this decade."

The Wealthy Barber is not full of new techniques, complex strategies, nor get-rich-quick-or-even-semi-quick schemes. Instead it focuses on the financial planning basics that, over time, have proven to be effective. It's primarily common sense—common sense that, unfortunately, in our society is not common knowledge. By using a "novel" format and strong doses of humour, Chilton has taken the intimidation and boredom out of the financial-education experience.

Much of The Wealthy Barber's success is certainly owed to its author's unique presentation skills. An economics graduate and former winner of the H.L.Gassard Award for the highest mark in the country on the Canadian Securities Course, Dave Chilton definitely does not fit the stereotype of a dry financial expert. The Chicago Sun-Times said it most succinctly when they stated "Chilton is charming, unpretentious and funny."

This is truly a great Canadian success story. From a family project, self-published in the basement of Dave Chilton's house, The Wealthy Barber has gone on to become an internationally recognized brand name, helping millions of people on its way."
