There's no rest for the weaked, hahaha.

Well, that's how  I feel sometimes, I sometimes wish I could take a long break but I know the bank would start asking for mortgages payments after a couple of months; and then, even if I didn't pay mortgage I'd still have to pay rent.: NO rest for the weaked, hahaha.  This system is design to make humanoids out of us, I remember backhome one could fall behind in payments and the house payments could be delayed without the risk of loosing the house.

I envy the people who can live backhome with their basic necesities fullfiled, they seems to have more time to live.

I think, that work isnt everything. There should be a balance between your professional life and your social life. We are supposed to enjoy life not be a miserable slaves. Life is definately too short!!

Dogo, that was one of the best and most insightful things I've read in a long, long time. I'm forwarding it to everyone I know, 'cause I do know some people who are living full of sand (sometimes myself included)...

Good insight Dogo...I liked that. So many of us are caught up in worrying and BITCHING  about irrelevant things that the things we SHOULD be concentrating on are always put back. True dat! this was really good, for me at least, sometimes you get caught in the rat race and before you know it you can't get out. That's kind of the situation for me, but trying to give up some things to get out of it. See how it goes

Glad you liked it

So... I read this thread some time ago and got me thinking, 'cause I'm in a similar situation, I didn't post 'cause I simply don't know the answer, and I guess the answer is different for everyone.

Instinctively, I guess I would say "no" it's not worth it, but that would be hypocritical 'cause I keep doing it, it's difficult to get out of the "race".

I guess we all do know the right answer but we all naturally have a certain amout of ambitions and greed that we can't escape

So once again, I can't give you the answer because your's will probably be diff than mine... but someone sent me this which might help you find it. (I'll also post it as a thread, I think it's a nice read)

When things in your life seem almost too much to
handle, when 24 hours
in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise
 jar...and the 2 cups of
coffee..

A professor stood before his philosophy class and
had some items in
front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he
picked up a very large
and
empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with
golf balls. He then
asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed
that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and
poured them into the
jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled
into the open areas
between the golf balls. He then asked the students
again if the jar was
full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and
poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He
asked once more if the
jar was full. The students responded with a
unanimous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from
under the table and
poured the entire contents into the jar,
effectively filling the empty
space between the sand. The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter
subsided, " I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life.

The golf balls are the important things-your God,
family, your children,
your health, your friends, and your favorite
passions -- things that if
everything else was lost and only they remained,
your life would still
be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like
your job, your house,
and your car.

The sand is everything else -- the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he
continued, "there is no
room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same
goes for life. If you
spend all your time and energy on the small stuff,
you will never have
room for the things that are important to you.

Pay attention to the things that are critical to
your happiness.
Play with your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.
Play another 18.
There will always be time to clean the house and
"fix the disposal."

Take care of the golf balls first -- the things
that really matter.
Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired
what the coffee
represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just
goes to show you that
no matter how full your life may seem, there's
always room for a couple
of cups of coffee with a friend."

Please share this with someone you care about. I
JUST DID.

I know exactly what you mean.  We all want this lavish lifestyle and work so hard to make the money that we cant find the time to spend it.  But you dont find sometime for yourself, I think youll regret it.

Try to find sometime to chill out, go shopping and relax.  We only live once so you need to enjoy all aspects of your life.
