From CityPulse website:

She may be the only person who can upstage the star of the show. And that’s just what Madonna did at the Toronto International Film Festival Sunday night.

The Material Girl, who seems to have a way of getting into the spotlight even when it's not supposed to be on her, had the cameras clicking at Roy Thomson Hall when her husband’s flick “Revolver” premiered at the fest.

Guy Ritchie directed the film, which is about an unrepentant gambler, played by hot star Jason Statham, who takes on a mob boss in a high stakes game, and finds his life is on the line.

Madonna’s leg may be broken from a horse accident in England this summer, but her confidence isn’t. “I’m not nervous,” she insists, as she hobbles into the theatre. “I think it’s a great movie.”

Ray Liotta, who plays the evil mob boss, agrees. “Guy was great,” he praises. “He’s right up there along with Scorsese and Ridley Scott and Jonathan Demme. He’s extremely committed about what he wants.”

So is Richard Gere, whose film “Bee Season” has also created buzz at the festival.

The story surrounds family secrets that unravel when a daughter wins a series of spelling bees, and her father ignores his collapsing marriage to help her along.

Gere turned up at the Elgin Theatre for the premiere, explaining why he decided to commit to the project. “The beautiful script was poetically done,” he outlines. “I liked that a lot, then went and read the original book … even more extraordinary. And I thought this is material that really is beautiful and we have a shot at doing something special with this.”

“Special” is just what Keira Knightly believes the latest incarnation of Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” will bring to moviegoers.

She attended the red carpet opening at Roy Thomson Hall, and guarantees you’ll like what you see.

“I’m really confident that we’ve made an absolutely beautiful film and I know that nobody’s going to be disappointed. And I never say that! I’m going out on a limb by saying it … and it’s an amazing thing to be a part of.”

All three films will be released this fall or during the winter months, to give non-fest goers a chance to make up their own minds.
