I dont think that stupidity could ever fully be banned. But not allowing non registered members to access certain sections of the forum, is not the answer. Not ALL annonys are annoying and bad per say... some are just truely passing by just to see whats going on in the latin community. Some dont have the time to register, some dont want to register and some may have other reasons to why they cant/dont want to register... be the reason what may, I dont believe that converting this forum into a private little social club is the answer.
In regards to meeting more people, not necessarily. Just b/c someone registers does not mean that they are going to post or to get involved. I know of some 'members' that have duplicate accounts and have never posted anything since the time they have been a member.
I dont mean to play devil's advocate here but I just dont believe that a PUBLIC forum should be converted into a private club... a members only exclusive club. We already have a 'members only' section which has increased the amount of registered members. Thats what TH wanted to do by creating that section no? Those who wanted in on the gossip registered, b/c thats all it takes, a registration to allow access to members only... you dont even have to post anything... just register. And a lot of registered members are doing that.. just registering to get in on the members section but not post. And thats fine... to each his own. But to try to convert the whole forum into a private members only section... no... I dont agree.
With respects to the stupidity and uselessness of the posts on General... just dont read them. Ignore what you dont find useful and just stick to the topics that you want to read on or enjoy reading and being entertained by.
You cant generalize, and you cant force people to register. The members only section is fine and dandy for us to crack jokes and entertain ourselves with those with whom we are comfortable with... but let the non registered users of this foro keep up with current events and allow them to see what our community has to offer. Dont limit information to those who have had the time/opportunity to register... thats not right... at least not to me.
You can tolerate stupidity but you could never fully ban it. I think we need the general section if anything because it acts as a buffer. If that wasnt there we would have a sudden flood of fake registered users (please refer to the "Mango" thread for an example) and all that stupidness would be in this room. keep it open so all the fito lovers and haters and the people who think fregata is a whorehouse and the ones that hate that Andrea chick can stay the hell over there and I dont ever ever have to even see their foolishness. (unless I go over there to say I hate brocolli, cause I do)

I just think that by closing it, more people will join the member's section.....which in any case....9 out of the 10 anonys are the same 2 people......so no big loss.
Why expose Stupidity when you can fully ban it?
Right now, dumb people have the option of posting all over in diff. sections.....but when you take away that option.....they wil be limited to either joining in OR not exposing their useless thoughts.
Entertainment is one thing....but POINTLESS is another.
And BTW: who actually thinks that the General section is entertaining anyway? (unless you are passing as anony)
