I do feel though that an opening act should be a WARM UP for the big show, it should be an opening act that gets the crowd going and for a mere moment have the crowd saying to themselves "gee who is this person they are great" not ( i did hear several people say this and shout this) "so when will carlos come on?" or "y esta quien es."   OVERALL I LOVED IT !!

I also had a good time & yes the concert was well organized & put together....by far the best latin concert I've seen as well. As to Carlos he was great, always been an awesome performer & entertainer. He really got everyone hyper & dancing (other then me & fea...lol, lol j/k) Well his new cd I knew nothing about but I really loved it more towards the end where he sanged most of his old songs...then i was more hype.

@ Colombiana4life......Baba's was FUN as always!!! Thank God we left cause I've heard from a few that the after party was sh_t. That's too bad.

Kudos to the organizers. This was the best concert I've attended in Toronto that was put together by Latin Americans. Carlos Vives was amazing, like everyone said, humble and so, so talented. He would give props in every song to the accordion player and also to Mayte and his band. Amazing guy and his music is so happy and catchy, you don't have to be Colombian to feel it. The location was just unbelievably great. And really, I can't say enough about the organization of the whole event. The crowd had a blast, and all in a very respectful manner. The only thing I would say to the organizers is to choose carefully the opening talent. Rosita Stone might be a talented singer, but she was not a good choice to open for Carlos Vives. There were other more appropriate local talent who would've gotten the crowd going. I actually kind of felt sorry for her. And no, Rosita, you don't "also" speak English. You ONLY speak English and try (with a lot of effort) to speak Spanish.

In any case, all in all, it was an excellent, excellent concert. I really enjoyed it.

Definitivamente Shakira y ahora Carlos Vives son los mejores conciertos a los que yo he asisitido aqui en Canada.

I have been a fan of his since he first came out when I was like 6 or 7 years old, back home in Colombia.  He started acting in soap operas and then moved on to singing, where he started off as a rocker.  Then when he starred in the novela "Escalona" (based on the life of singer/composer Rafael Escalona in the 1920's/30's) that's when he went into the vallenatos and cumbias.

"Se sobro, Carlos se sobro", like majority of us were chanting.  He really put on an amazing show, sang songs from all his CD's, but mostly from "El Rock de mi Pueblo" since that was the theme of the tour.  I was looking forward to hear songs from "Escalona" but he didnt sing any.  The best part was when he left the stage with his band (obviously set up) and everyone was yelling "Otra, otra, otra" making noise, so he came back out.  And that's when he started with his "Clasicos de la Provincia", which was the highlight of the night for me, that's when everyone (including me with my flag), started jumping and singing like crazy.  He dedicated "Alicia Adorada" to the people of the disaster  in the States.  He did an amazing acoustic performance of "La Celosa".  Egidio Cuadrado, el acordionista, tambien se paso with his acordeon skills.  And Mayte Montero playing the maracas and other percussion, but ella se pasa when she plays la gaita (long wooden flute).  Amazing that this girl can play the maracas on one hand, and plays the gaita with the other.  La Provincia is an extremely talented band.  Sorry for the long schpiel people (took LadyBug's job, LOL), but im just so proud and happy that i had the chance to attend this.  And Carlos Vives siempre tan humilde y simple, with his ripped jeans, t-shirt, and sandals, and he always says that that's how his hometown people dress so why shouldn't he. 

I think ive said enough overall i had an unforgettable time.  It was also great to see Princesa and Fea at the end, although it was only for a bit, thanks for the hook up Fea. LOL.  Hope u girls had fun where u guys went.
