It's not about wanting you back, it's about pride and wanting to win over anyone else. Kids for example, have a toy and never use it but when some othe kid is playing with it. All of the sudden they want it back.
Men are like kids and want attention.
It will also make him grow and chances are he has changed and for the better so if your gut feeling is to continue getting to know a stranger that is giving you a good time because he's getting to know you then going back to posible future life. There is your challenge.
I am so glad that you agree with me Genie. Your situation is exactly what we are talking about....he left you for someone like that and now he has to convince himself everyday that he is happy when deep down inside he is miserable. Too bad so sad for him I tell you (and it seems you are smart enough to have told him the same.) I also think that this situation goes beyond the "booty call" (as mentioned above). Men do not have the proper intelligence to keep women around for a booty call (unless the girl is fully willing and able to do the same) What I am trying to say is that they walk around with all of this pride and self-righteous attitude about leaving you, when the only person they are fooling is themself (and they do a damn good job at fooling themselves and believing that they are happy). Believe me....one day when all of their emotions have remained bottled up and when absolutely nobody is watching....that is when they break down. Everything happens for a reason and you have to strongly believe that.

I just dont understand i mean seriously whats wrong with men when they have u they dont appreciate you but when they see u happy with someone else they want u back the wrost are the ones that call u drunk telling u what a mistake they made! Ok first let me say that a guy is not going to tell the truth on this matter so.....from one lady to another....THEY DO NOT REALIZE WHAT THEY HAVE UNTIL IT IS GONE. I know what your thinking....."everybody says this"...right? It is the plain and simple truth. They think that by breaking up with you, they will be able to be with all the girls they want (thinking with their penis.....which is where most of their thinking derives from).....once they do that they realize that there really aren't that many decent girls around anymore so they start to question their decision...at the same time, they only feel somewhat scared because they love to think that if it really comes down to it, you will take them back....although that is not the case) THEN.....they see you moved on with a new boyfriend and that you are happy as hell......this is when they have to deal with the anxiety/panic of their original decision........so they try to call you up and talk to you in hopes to work things out.......BUT......they will never say to your face they want you back....they talk nonsense like "let's hang out"...........if I were you I would quickly and intelligently tell him where he can go............!!!! I totally agree with this annony... i recently saw my exbf about two months ago and i hadnt seen him since we broke up in January well he saw me with my now boyfriend and constantly called my cell phone just wanting to talk and telling me how he grew up and has two jobs and bla bla bla then tells me that he still cares and can see me having his babies and being together forever!! however he currently has a gril but since she has a baby, they cant totally be together alone! but mind you he left ME for HER?!?!?! so what i say its a game they want to play dont give in like my mother says if ur gonna cut it make sure u get the roots too so it wont regrow! especially if u have planted a new bright and more beautiful seed!!
