Cause had he wrote it down in plain language, It would be to easy to figure out that he was full of it and no one would have cared. By keeping it vague it lends itself to interpretation thus people make a big deal of it.

I hear by predict that in the next year something bad will happen that will affect lots of people on the earth. this bad thing will be viewed by millions via glowing boxes interrupted by the occational 2 minute break (usually every 22 minutes, but not always) I also predict that a Latin club will be closed before the year ends. And then another one will open up. and then some people are gonna like it and some wont. and the ones that dont, will start a thread about how it sucks.. and the ones that like it (or work there) will go on an say it doesnt suck. then its gonna go on back and forth for a little while.

Im so freakin wise and clarevoyant its scarry........

Nicely put, and that's my point, if we already know about these things (e.g. the mark of the beast) we would know to refuse it because it could mean that we won't go to the kingdom of God. That the end of the world will happen is pretty inevitable, that is God's will, but that we can avoid the things that will displease the Lord, i think we can.

Ok look people, seriously... all of Nostradamus stuff can be related to real events because all of it is written in such vague, ambigious language that it can pretty much mean anything. Not to mention that depending who translated it from the original french it can mean two completelly different things all together. Its all subject to interpretation and the personal input of the person doing the "correlating"

like for example

the quote

"Two brothers torn apart by Chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb"

We could take our knowledge of the 9/11 events and interpret the "two brothers" to mean the twin towers, but in the same way it could also be used to accuratly predict the plot of "Double Dragons" with Jean Claude VanDamm or even how we know it wasnt like 2 "brothas" that be beefin over some club named "Fortress" and the great leader is the one who owns the club who has to decide who to sell it to?. who knows...
maybe it was Romulo and Remo and the fortress was the Colisseum and the leader was a Roman Emperor.. so maybe Nasty Nos predicted the rise of the Roman empire, or VanDamm or Some Ghetto gang war.. or maybe all.. so mythicall ooooo..

the point is the **** if vague at best. Its people who put their own interpretation on it and choose to believe what they want.

Pretty much all what Nostradamus has written can be related to the things that have happend and are happening nowdays,. but as Colombiana said,. @LadyBug - did u know that apparently they said that that "666" has already been put in motion, but not in skin, as of yet, but the bar codes in products, credit cards, debit cards, etc. It's not like the 666 is right there in front of you, but something along the lines of how the numbers add up to that or the way the bars are placed. That's the freaky thing girl. I wonder the same thing. Like for example, the Book of Revelations in the Bible pretty much tells us what will happen during the "end of times" and the signs that will let us know its coming near. It has been said that a lot of the signs are present now, for example, natural disasters, wars, jews heading back to their mainland (this actually happened like a month ago, hundreds of jews from Canada just headed back to Israel). It also talks about how people will be getting the mark of the beast (666) imprinted on themselves and that those who accepted it would not go to the Kingdom of God. This hasnt happened yet, but im thinking, is there no way of preventing that whole "Mark of the Beast" thing if we're pretty much warned about it already? Man I can go on with this for hours. It is true that Nostradamus, and others before and after him, have had very accurate prophecies about a lot of things. But, i was reading this christian book once, and although they will admit that it is possible for people to have this "gift", it is not a gift from God. It is actually from the Devil and all that stuff should not be messed with. God does not want us to know our future. But yet all this stuff interests me quite a bit, so this is where i run into the confusion of being really curious about stuff and wanting to know, but also knowing that it is wrong.

A. None of this was written by Nostradamus -- and he would have been .. er... 150 years old in 1654! If you doubt it, ask whoever sent it to you for the verse-number and/or the original French.

Fire approaches the great new city...In the city of york there will be great collapse, twin brothers.Torn apart by chaos while the fortresses fall, the great leader will succumb; the third big war will come when the big city is burning."

A. It's a garbled mixture of carefully selected lines from two different Nostradamus quatrains (X.72, which in the original doesn't even mention a 'King of Terror' -- see third website listed below -- and is about *1999* [!!]; and VI.79, whose 'new city' on 45 degrees is Villeneuve in SW France, not New York, which is on 40 degrees 40 minutes) plus a bunch of other lines that are not by Nostradamus at all.

It will "prove" one of two things to you:

#1. Nostradamus was even more insightful than imagined OR
#2. The quatrains are obscure enough that they can be interpreted to predict any occurrence.

After the terrorist skyjackings and attacks in the United States on September 11, 2001, a rumor was spread that Nostradamus had predicted it.

The following quatrains were offered as proof:

DO YOU GUYS BELIEVE IN HIS PROPHECIES?

He's a great French prophet whom they say predicted the future by writing poetry in quatrains (4 liners)

They "say" that he precited the SEP 11 terrorist attacks.....

He predicted that Florida will fully drown under water.....

He predicted that "birds will constantly drop from the sky"....like all these plane crashes we are having recently....

So far, all his predictions have come true.....including the prediction of his own death - On the night of July 1st, he stated in a quatrain that he would be found dead on the morning July 2nd by sunsrise.....and that's what happened.....

Has anyone studied him??
