I feel that everyone can be good at what they do in their own specific style. Being number one is a matter of choice that only the fans have and the type of music they like. If the Pop music fans are the outspoken ones and they vote for a particular artist then that artist will be on top.
If the rock fans vote in large number for their artist the same would happen and so on. So it is not a matter of whether voting is fair or not it is a matter of the fans voting and also of course the particular song they are voting on.

i don't know is Rosa Stone is good or not, but what i am saying that the number #1 song if from an artist that almost never perform in T.O or at least never advertise about it.
i don't know if they are fear to the some artists, for the last month rosa stone has been #1 on th radio (acording to TH and periodico orgulo hispano), and seriusly we really never hear about her playing in TO.
About Gardenias you guys are in the top 10, not bad for a new band of Rock,

Do you believe the votes in the TH Radio polls are fair and do actually show the true popularity of the artist?
I think they are fair or at least they work on letting people know what artist is getting more reconigtion or is more likeable,.everyone has different taste on music,.. and I agree with LadyBug all depends on the promotion that the singer team does,.

No, I was being sarcastic, because I said there were no egos in the band, so after your reply i tried to sound like the biggest egomaniac. That's all, I didn't have anything else to say.
I still think however, that egos are not a factor in your success or popularity, I think self-confidence is a big one though. The difference to me is for example, I have the self-confidence to show my music to anyone and be open to comments, opinions and all that, but I'm not an egomaniac who thinks my music is the best in the universe and that everyone should like it. I think that is not good for an artist, because it truncates the ability or possibility to improve.

@ Buffy: They are working hard on it as we speak The release date has not yet been announced but definately by Sep 1st. The needed to enjoy their summer as well. It's not easy putting together that radio.
@ Daeveed: The right amount of "ego" is a great boost for popularity. Where there's no ego at all, there's also a lack of popularity.

that's so true caliche. In all the bands i've been, I've seen it, and I'm usually the one that slaps them over the head so they can come back down from the clouds.

@ Caliche:....NOT NECESSARILY......it's all about hustling and making the contact from artist to fan/friend to make sure they vote........that was my previous point, sometimes the popular artists, no names mentioned....get mad when a less popular rookie wins them at polls like these....why is that? the hustle and determination.....when an artist reaches a status that considers himself "popular"...he also becomes lazy and gets the prima donna syndrome......so he forgets to keep working......

Well....as far as fair for internet voting goes.....I guess so......(hacking is increasing world wide though) lol
As for showing the popularity of the artist......definately!......it helps with recognition....A LOT....especially if you beat out a more popular one.....
If an artist doesn't get many votes.....it means that people who voted liked someone else's music better OR that the artist has no publicist or promo campaing to hype him up.....and this happens a lot in the case of artists who we would assume would "win" a competition poll thingy on line.....
