I think fito Blanko broke many obstacles in Canada. He is a pioneer in latin reggae in Canada. He also talks about Canada in every interview he has when he flies down south. He also supports all others cultures and raises. And about reggaeton, he is part of the reggaeton movement as well as other urban genre he supports. His single that was number 1 in Toronto and was not even reggaeton it was a dancehall track. But be prepared for the new tracks and the new features I heard. Fito Blanko is great guy and charismatic. I'm very proud that he is from here and the support to our community.

Although it might seem that he is not doing a very good job represntn latin people from Canada, i find it magnificent that new latin artists are being recognized as good singers, I think this reggaeton music is bringing more attention to us, latin people. I think most of you would agree that is funny seeing people from other culturesenjoying reggaeton by trying to sing it. I don't know if any of you were there at Salsa on St. Clair but it was the first time i heard about Fito Blanko, and i found his music to be very good.
and to the people who say that fito blanko suck because of his appereance or just don't like his music, everyone has a different point of view about music, if you don't like someone's singing that doesn't make them bad artist, thats alny your point of view, and as long as you state that i don't think anyone should have a problem when reading your posts.
I agree with annonymous about how Fito isn't really opening doors and he's not really reppin latinos in Canada. Anyone can sing what he sings. Anyone who wants to make a quick but in the music bizz will sell out and go to what ever trend is hot. I keep hearing about how he is not a reggaeton artist, and that his music is so versatile. HOWEVER on TLN all he talks about is reggateon and how it's reggaeton is blowing up. Why do you care if it blows up? I thought you weren't a reggaeton artist. Or is it that he is one when it's hot trend thanks to NORE, TEGO and DADDY YANKEE who opened up the doors to this music. I guess buisness is buisness and if that's where the money is can you really blame him. I would do it too. Plus he may not be a reggaeton artist for ever. If the trend ever fades he may move into another genre. I mean he is versatile. Maybe he might come out with a Bachata or Salsa album which are also influences on his music.

Can't the man wear whatever he wants? Why does he need to "represent" something? He already represents a Hispanic Torontonian because that's who he is. He lives here doesn't he? The man tries to be at all the "Latino" events and he's doing the best he can to promote his CD.
only thing that bugs me is that on TLN Fito Blanko says he represents Toronto and bla bla bla, yet he's wearing a New York cap.

Hi guys I'm new to this site and am browsing through all the forums. Checked out Salsa on St Clair and they put on a hot show. They didn't have any great acts and I think all of them were local, but the atmosphere was amazing. Alot of people, alot of food and alot of dancing. Hopefully things will only get better for Salsa on St Clair next year. I'm suprised how many times this guy Fito Blanka is mentioned on this website. He's new to me and I'm suprised how many people know of him. Saw him perform and it was ok. TLN needs to get better talent for the shows to gain some more exposure or even tourists to come check this thing out. My wish is for Hispanics to have a huge even in T.O like Caribanna that will bring more money into the city. What they had at Salsa on St Clair was good, but needs improvement.

Sooooooo true. He's very talented but thinks a little too high of himself. He's cute and all and I've met him one time at Harbourfront during his performances and he wouldn't stop talking about himself. Half of the stuff I couldn't understand but he's from Mississauga so I don't know where the slang comes from. Maybe since he's still young, it'll pass sometime in the future. I like his song on z103.5. Sounds pretty good.
