I agree with u Phantasma,. we are from America so everyone is american,.. pero no se puede cambiar el estereotipo formado,. americanos from USA,.. nosotros somos latinos,..y esto me hace recordar a la llamada que tuve ayer,. les cuento,.. this guy called asking for something,. while the conversation went on,.. he said that he is latino,.. but he doesn't consider himself latino because he is argentino,. ok so ,. I said to him, u r latino because Argentina is in LatinAmerica,..and every country in Latin America has a mix of diferent cultures or ethnic,.u won't believe what he said,. he said :"for me being Latino is a way of being,..like mexican, central american,..but I don't want to argue with u ,. bye I'll call later",. I am very proud of my country but I find that dividing ourselves into nationalities is what keeps us from growing as a community. Some of us are colombians, argentinians, salvatrucans, ecuadorians but most importantly we are all Latinos. -- Edited by Phantasma at 13:05, 2005-06-08
I agree with this, but I was just reffering to the fact that i would much rather be called Salvadorena instead of americana. But then again, being labeled Latina is alright as well.. it unifies us all into one category.

I agree with u Joker in theory, but Chale is right, The United States have tarnished the tittle to the point that I would never refer to myself as American so that would not be mistaken as being from the U.S.

I agree with you Joker... but we've reached a point right now where if we start calling ourselves Americanos, that people will automatically assume that we are from the USA. I would much rather be distinguished as belonging to a certain country (ie. El Salvador) rather than being grouped together as "american"... Just what i think though..
