my girlfriend (who is unemployed) from chile was given a student visa to Canada after providing the following documents:
-invitation from someone living in canada
-letter of financial stability from this person living in canada (usually provided by HR at their job)
-proving theres enough $ in her bank account
-proving that she is enrolled in an english course at any school in the GTA
-passport
-proving she's got work when she gets back to chile (..just a letter from an employer/guy with a business who is willing to employ her)
so in the end, the most important thing is to show that your fine financially, and that you got 'some' or 'any' reason to go back to your country........ being unemployed at the beginning was not even an issue. Anywho, I hope this info helps for anyone who wants to have someone visit from south america,.. chao chao
anyone have any luck getting a visitor visa from Chile..or any south american country, with a friend/relative that satisfied most of the prerequisites (such as: letter of invitation, financial stability, taking an english course, letter of employement for when they gets back to thier country), but at the time that they applied, this person was unemployed??? The employment factor is a biggie with the officials who call the shots.. but has anyone experienced the same situation with any success?? thankz
