Check this out, there's a show from Montreal called Teleritmo, and it's not bad at all. I've watched it a couple of times, but you can only watch it if you have cable (timeshifting). The show airs on CH, which is a Global affiliate, and like I said, it's pretty good, but mainly about Montreal events.

This is the info they had on their website:

Latin American Community

Teleritmo
An up-beat look at Latino artists and events in Montreal. Find out where the "fiesta" is happening while enjoying the best in Latin music videos. Saturday 10:00 p.m. Language: Spanish.

Foco Latino
Your weekly Latin American magazine show. Host Omar Alexis Ramos portrays the richness and diversity of the Latin community in Montreal. Learn more about Latin poetry and culture! Saturday 4:30 p.m. Language: Spanish.

Yes, they did. And I believe them. The way I see it, being a musician or any type of artist in a market where you know you won't become rich and famous doing it, unless you leave the country, you're probably only doing it for the love of the craft. Fito said his parents wanted him to be a lawyer. Richard, from Cache, said he did become an engineer, just to make his parents happy, but he continued with his music. Juan Carlos said that music had been his life always, and that's what he concentrated on. They also said that there's very little support from the community, who will pay anything to see crappy acts just because they're international, and not pay to see good local acts just because they're, well, local. This is so true. (Why are we latinos so cheap? We're always looking for gangas even when we can afford to spend the money without breaking our finances?)

They only really brushed through the questions (plus the lady interrupts way too much and doesn't let others speak), but they also only had half an hour and too many people talking. But I was happy to see that at least they're giving the artists some time on air to talk about this, and that at least the media is aware that local talent is actually on the rise and worth paying money to see. Did anyone else watch this? Any thoughts? "
