ANyhow, yeah.. the pork has this bacteria/worm.. if you don't cook it properly you would get it. In Ecuador is very common.. in my house if we are going to make pork , we clean the meat and then we boil it. It s scary, you can become crazy or die if not treated.

In regards of el mal de ojo,.. very common as well,.. and I have heard of people dying from it... back home everyone knows about it and if you get sick , the first thing they do is pasarte el huevo y despues al doctor ...

I know what that means, but it SOUNDS kindda funny! giggle.gif

I believe it.  I posted something about this.  That is why we don't eat that much pork.

Years ago I got really sick.  I got needle shots and got worse.  My grandma did some home remedy and I felt like brand new right after it.  She said someone had given me the mal oyo.

When i was in Ecuador my aunt was telling me a story about a relative, apparently at one point in his life he was feeling really sick and went to a few doctor's in the US so they can check him out and see what was wrong with him, but they never found anything wrong with him. After a few tries he gave up and when to Ecuador and the doctors found that he had a WORM in his brain weirdface(I was like WTF that can't be true). Anyways, my aunt said that the doctors took care of it and now he is fine. (apparently is very common in Ecuador) weirdfaceX 100000

So yesterday i was on the net (like always) and found this story with VIDEO!!!!

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,455067,00.html

so i guess the story my aunt told me was true after all, now i have to call her and feel like an a$$ for not believing in her. cry

has anything like this ever happen to u?

It is true  about those worms in pork (de la familia de la solitaria)... that's why I never eat it,  My mom would bug is with that (still does) everytime we eat cerdo.
But how come could they miss it at the hospital in the States?weirdface
