Chinatown's Happy Seven Reopens With Green Light From Public Health Saturday October 18, 2008 CityNews.ca Staff
A wildly popular restaurant in Toronto's major Chinatown was back in business Saturday, over a week after a well-documented rat infestation forced it to close.
The doors of Happy Seven restaurant swung back open after Toronto Public Health gave the restaurant the green light.
Officials say the Spadina eatery complied with all their demands, including closing up the holes rats were using to get inside and removing a garbage pile from the back laneway.
The restaurant was closed on October 9th after CityNews cameras caught rats frolicking in the front window. The famous late night spot will still be subject to random checks alongside regular inspections

CityNews reporter saw the rat taking a bath in the front off the resturant.. The happy seven was still open until today when the heath inspector closed it. The messed up thing is that it passed inspection 7 days ago?
A popular restaurant in Chinatown has been shut down by Toronto Public Health after a rat was caught on camera roaming inside.
A passerby walking on the street shot a video of a rat in the window of Happy Seven restaurant on 358 Spadina Avenue, and posted it on a popular Toronto blog website Wednesday.
A public health representative told CP24 the eatery would be closed down after they saw the rodent on television Thursday morning.
An inspector was sent to the restaurant on October 2, but officials said there was no evidence of a rodent problem then.
