I hope it's sooner rather than later. Premios Somos is definitely a start. I haven't been to one, but I heard that it's not so bad. But we need so many things to get to the level of Premios Lo Nuestro. For starters, we need a tv station where we're not just fillers, but the management is actually interested in the quality of Spanish programming. We need profesionalism in the people that put together these events... no shady dealings, cancellations, bad security, bad sound, bad lighting, etc. I'm sure that if a lot of these promoters work through trial and error and they actually get better at what they do, and they don't just conform with mediocricy, then they'll get better and put together better concerts. Same go for the local bands and local talent. I mean, at least we're seeing a start now, right?

Also, maybe someone like the lady that puts together the Miss Mundo Latino News beauty pageant could do this. She's made that pageant look very professional and classy. Maybe someone like that is needed to get involved in a show of this kind. I don't know, maybe the people who're doing the Somos thing will eventually fill that void. Point being, we should eventually reach somewhat the same quality of events such as Lo Nuestro because we have the means, it's just finding the people to put it all together.

When are we going to have a Premios Lo Nuestro in Canada? I don't have satellite, so I feel so out of the loop on international artists. Wouldn't it be great to have a Canadiana version of it? How long do you guys think it'll take for this to happen? Will we EVER be there? Are we heading there right now? Or is the local scene be local for decades to come? What do you think? I mean, there's undoubtedly talent here... but producers? Record-buying public? I'd love to one day attend one of these show here in our homeland.
