I just watched the funniest Spanish movie the other day, called My mother likes women, or something like that. It's pretty funny.

La pelicula en la que Penelope Cruz es monja es Todo sobre mi madre (All about my mother) and it's a Pedro Almodobar flick. It's really good. I'll watch anything from Spain. I just watched something called Solo Mia with Paz something, the woman in Spanglish, and it was amazing, very strong. I haven't watched the Motorcycle diaries or el Padre Amaro, but they're both supposed to be great, as well as Maria full of grace. I've heard about 9 Queens and that's on my list of movies to watch, too.

I personally have only watched few Spanish movies, I've seen 9 queens, y tu mama atambien, habla con ella, one with Penelope Cruz (where she plays a nun I think and dies at the end..., I don't remember the name of it), and The Motorcycle diaries.

I really liked 9 queens and y tu mama tambien. Both were interesting stories with humor and reality. Habla con ella was interesting, sad at the end, but it has a message. But out of the five, my favourite is the Motorcycle Diaries. I loved this movie with a passion and can't wait to buy it (it is getting released on Feb. 15). Not only it is based on a true story, but the scenery, acting, music, and the experience takes you along the trip, it is breath taking and touching. I could also relate to the movie as I had many similar experiences from a very lengthy trip that I had taken last year... I would not been able to relate those travel experiences have I not traveled myself.

Sorry for the long post, so what are yours and why? (eventually I'd like to rent and see other movies, hence this topic...)
