this is a silent cry for help.  Its hard to tell her to seek professional help as that is usually intimidating and maybe the cost is also a worry.  Theres many ways one can approach her but the key is getting her to talk n communicate whats really poisining her self esteem, self love, n self respect.  a person can be heavy set n still be healthy (there are scientific articles backing this up).  Issues such as slow motablism, thyroid problems are just some factors one cant always control so the key to loosing weight is doing it for the RIGHT reasons by loving urself, loving who u really r and living a healtheri lifestyle, both nutritionally n spiritually.

I meant to comment on yours but got distracted lol.

You have a lot of good points and my friend and I have actually talked about what you said in previous conversations.

We know where this insecurity comes from ie. a bit of both her family background and her abusive ex.  This summer though we have taken her out and she seems to be coming around, enjoying her single life and having true friends around her that really care.  She is a beautiful girl w/ a great personality and we tell her that, we've even encouraged her to get new clothing etc., and slowly is opening up.  I'm also trying to get her involved in joining up some courses from TDSB.  She has made really good strides this year.

At times, I feel like a counselor but she's worth it!

Does she excersice?? maybe that can help her. By excersicing she will be burning the calories she is consuming and will help her to eat. Also, protein shakes are usually bad for your health, and might lead her to put on some extra pounds.

Yup she does excercise but I think she is doing that to lose it even more quickly. She looks fine but because she doesn't meet her 3 meals a day we tend to worry about her. I'll let her know about the shakes thanks.

I know someone right now that most of the time she doesn't have lunch or if she has lunch she doesn't have dinner.  She hardly eats fruits & vegs

We worry about her and have told her to eat but doesn't work.  Now she's into having protein drinks?

What can one do really?

I guess she use to be heavy set but nothing major.  We are kinda watching her and have not suggested to get help yet.  It's kinda weird that you read about this stuff and doesn't hit you until you meet someone like that.

I luv food so I can't imagine cry

tell her to seek professional help he is not "dieting" she is a step away from becoming anorexic.

u can't do anything until she sees the  problem herself.
