yo tambien creo que artistas locales son los que los locales conocemos y hemos visto crecer con el tiempo. a marcelo nadie lo conoce, no da conciertos en canada no lanzo su cd en canada y de repende un dia salio en la radio de TH como local y no es local, solo estuvo de paso por toronto, es como tener a charlie garcia de paso por un ano en toronto y luego se va y lanza su cd en argentina y le llamemos talento local de Toronto. porque escribio sus canciones en toronto???? I DON"T THINK SO

nisiquiera los medios hablan de el.. yo le deceo lo mejor pero no es justo para los artistas locales que en verdad han sufrido tener a un artista extranjero que participe por un premio que le pertenece a los locales.

yup ... i think the same. he doesnt deserves to be nominated for a Canadian Music Award.

I really hope the best for him but for this Award I just hope he doesnt get it.

Actually, I think Marcelo's music is too down to earth. He needs more creativity in his musical art. His music is not even produced in canada and their are no canadians involved in the album. I don't think he deserves to represent Latinos in Canada or be nominated for a Canadian Music Award.

felicito a todos los nominados, Marcelo tiene buena musica al igual que todos los nominados pero me parece que el esta creciendo muy rapido en el ambiente hispano de toronto sin averlo merecido "es un chico nuevo que viene con un cd ya echo en otro pais" esta bien que lo apoyemos pero que pasa con los artistas locales que han ido paso a paso para tener un respeto en nuestra comunidad como: Elina Cuevas, Ricky Franco, Fito Blanko, Carlos Cruz, Alex Bello, Shantall Young ....

Todos los hispanos hemos visto crecer a estos artistas desde que comenzaron su carrera profesional... una vez mas digo no estoy en contra de Marcelo pero hay artistas locales que merecen prioriedad.

no soy un miembro del SLUT campaing pero los apoyo 100% me parece que este grupo hace lo posible para llegar al publico y hacer querer lo que tenemos en esta ciudad.

I went with Marcelo Trevino as well. His stuff is more down to earth.

Plan C was a good choice. I went with Marcelo Trevino. His recordings sound much more professional that the rest. I had a listen to them all. Fito Blanko still has room to mature as an artist so I think its still too early for him. He'll have chances in the future. Good choice of words: "No matter what artist - Just represent" <---- I like that one!

Like I've said before, I do like Fito and I think he's really talented, but on this one I voted for Plan C. I really like their music and their experimentation with different sounds and rhythms, and I also like Eliana Cuevas a lot. She's incredibly talented and has a tremendous voice. I hope everyone on this forum votes as well, no matter what the artist-- let's just represent.
