i'd say hi, I remember once i called her by the wrong name. ( i called her ex ex's name) she didn't look happy about it.

Pretty much depends on the way things were left off.  If it ended in bad terms, i just ignore the person if i run into them in a public setting.  Like they dont exist.  But if it did not end in bad terms, i dont see the problem with a quick hello.
