I don't think Ecuatorianos (non Liga fans) hoping for a Liga de Quito win against Brazil -or-
Other Ecuatorianos (non Barcelona fans) hoping for a Barcelona fans against Millionarios de Colombia make them "bandwagon jumpers". It's more of a matter of supporting the teams within your country. It doesn't mean one is changing colours or leaving one's team behind - one's just supporting compatriota brothers. By no means supporting Liga against Brazil made me a liga FAN - it just made me glad an ECUA team won it all - that's it.

The only time I cheered against a non-Ecua team playing against and Ecua team was back in 2002 when Boca Juniors played Emelec en Guayaquil. Fui al Estadio de Emelec con la amarilla (de Ecuador) but my cousins and I were all not so much cheering for Boca; but more like going against Emelec... you know how that Emelec-Barcelona rivalry can be.

In any case we were cheering Boca on and los Emelecsistas como que no estaban muy contentos... a few bad miradas and malas palabras our way; but oh well... I really had wanted to wear the Barcelona jersey that night; but on advice of family I didn't and opted the Ecua jersey instead... They said wearing the Barcelona yellow en la casa de Emelec would be asking for waaayyy too much trouble.

i wasn't always a liga supporter because most of my life i been here in canada, but about 3-4 years back i went to Washington where my cousins are big time liga fans and thats where i pick it up and as of late i been more into soccer trying to learn as much as i can, and to answer ur question no I'm not some1 that just jump on the band wagon.

about the game on friday i didn't go to support Barcelona but more the Ecua team....... it was a good time and nothing is better than watching a game with people around u.

lol lets not even talk about bandwagon jumpers cuz on friday i saw a whole crap load of them....

so i went to the game and i wont lie it was worth the money 7 goals and a win for ecua u cant ask for more....but alot of the fans were acting like they were true barcelona supporters ..yelling and screaming BARCE! the whole time....then i was at the bar and asked a few people why they liked barce and where in ecua they were from....they were clueless and were like ohh im canadian never been to ecua ...hahaahahahah ....

too many canadianized washed ecuatorianos here que se creen bien ecuas cuando no saben nada del pais....its either they r canadianized or they act like negros....haha i seen soo much of that on friday....but whatever nice to know that i aint like them

im telling u ambriossi needs to go unless he shapes up ....they should definetly start up salas for every full game in december

i don't think they let him go but for sure after the end of the year...... is better for him to wait till after the world cup of clubs that way he can get a team from europe to pick him up, he is a really good player so I'm sure some1 will pick him up...... i also like salas and the way things are going in the team a lot of things and players are going to change cry

I have to agree, I think liga will have a good game even tho they might not win as long as they keep the team together, they have already lost 2 key players and they are having problems with others that have been contacted by other teams and they want to get out of liga to play for this other teams.... I hope they keep the rest of the team together at least till the end of the year, after that it will be a whole new team in liga.

About european teams not really caring about this cup is also a thing of the pass, fifa has change the tournament and the price for the winner of this tournament has gone up a lot for this same reason, so all the teams be in it %100.

Yeah El Nacional...that's the same policy that Nacional de Medellin has..no foreigner players....not sure if they are as strong in your league as los verdes are....

I guess LDU it's kind of like what happen with Chelsea in England or Villareal in Spain...nobody knew much about them until late 90's when manegement change and lots of $$ brought success... honestly before this win, I looked the Ecua teams in la liberta as filling spot teams...so this is a breakthrough for Ecua soccer at a club level!

AS far as popularity I dunno...you guys know better than I do....I guess Bacerlona and Millonarios have in common they are the teams with more domestic championships and they are the most popular....but futbolisticamente they aren't up there anymore... cry

What does motivos holds like 200 people so I guess that's all liga has here get at least we have 2000. You got to realize that people work on Friday and some people work late? I think if they would have done it on a Saturday their would be a better showing.

Sorry but most if not all ecuadorians here are hincha del Barcelona their might be a few liga supporters here but you can compare to the support Barcelona has. That is why I never went for liga in the final cause its not my team .

As far as Liga coming....not sure. I know TONS of Ecuas and none of them are Liga fans. It depends on how much a soccer fan IN GENERAL you are I think. When Independiente came Che went to see them even though he could not care less about them....he went to watch them because he loves soccer...SOUTH AMERICAN soccer.

those TONS of ecuas should know that LIGA is #1 in ecua right now idea

if they r true ecua futbol fans off course....and if u think of it if liga came here those same people u r talking about not saying all of em but a good amount will definetly show up .....

LIGA is making big moves right now....watch how the popularity will rise in japan for the world cup of clubs ...this is only the begining ..ecua soccer will keep boosting up

I won't bother discussing COLO COLO with you since you obviously know about soccer in Ecuador ONLY. I wanted them to do well but if you look back at my posts you will see that I knew they would get nowhere since the team they had was done...players all gone to play somewhere else and they had not coach at the start of the tournament.

The company I work for runs the place...consession stands....gates...beer....etc. I friggin placed an ad on here once to try and find people to hire. It's a hard place to find people for because it's so part time. So yeah ....blah blah blah
