I'm thinking about getting an itouch myself but can't at the moment because i need my money for my trip...... anyways, u guys could always use winamp and not itunes, u just need a plug-in to get it to work with it.
I've never used it but i've read about it on the net.
I'm not so fond of iTunes either - too used to WMP... I guess it will take some time to adjust and get used to it. But yeah, me s the iPhone too!
Read the whole article... above and read THIS focusing on the part that says: Oh, on a side note it seems as though iPod Touch owners can download 2.1 NOW. Plug your iPod Touch into iTunes to update, or click here to download.
Cheers!

Nice.... better price too! I admit I was on the fence on this, but I got one at a very good deal, and I LOVE it, it's friggin awsome!! I use it all the time (just not much to play music, go figure) Applications are great, super fast on the net, very user friendly, the interface is so intuitive and user friendly, it's crazy The external volume control, on the new one, would definitely be a bonus... and the external speaker as well. although I doubt it would sound very good The only thing I have a hard time living with, is friggin Itunes. Ugh!!

Anybody have one? How do you like it? Or are there better alternatives? Any hookups?
I've got an 8gb Itouch. I've had it for about a month now and I'm very impressed. 8gb is the cheaper model and it's more than enough for me because I get bored of music fast, and keep updating my tracks.
The wifi on it is very impressive. Feels like a high speed connection and picks up alot of wifi signals. Jailbreaking your ipod is easy and opens a world of free applications to play with.
IMO the itouch is much better than the iphone simply because it doesn't have a monthly bill attached to it
This information comes from The Boy Genius Report and has not been confirmed yet. A financing and protocol agreement has been pre-approved which will allow Deutsche Telekom to launch T-Mobile in Canada in 2009. Rogers is the only GSM network provider in Canada, and with T-Mobile entrance into the game, prices are expected to plunge in the Canadian market. The German carrier is supposed to offer an unlimited blackberry plan for $75 a month to the Canadian market. T-Mobiles HTC handsets and Sidekick line of products will be part of the offering as well.
Are you sure? If I'm not mistaken, I've seen the 8g for 260-something or 270-something (I forget) @ Walmart, just last weekend and the 16G for low 300s
I didn't know Walmart sold iTouch But yeah, the prices I quoted are directly from the Apple Store
