You misunderstood my questions / comments or the points of the comments.  Its ok.

Sabotage?  YAH RIGHT!  I am in my own vibe way far away from what you are doing and way too busy to worry about another night starting.  I dont have time to focus on people that are not even "competition" to what I play downtown.  If I wanted to start a Latin night downtown, I would have done it a long time ago as the opportunities ring my cell phone daily.

Dont spin at Latin clubs?  Wanna know why?  Unfortunately in this city, Latin clubs are not financially beneficial to their employees.  I feel my value is a lot higher than what they can "afford" to offer me so I already went through the "pay my dues" stages.  Money Talks, Bull*S-H-I-T walks.

Official Dj? Why?  -  If you feel you must know, there are private events that must happen, as well as I am an industry profesional and serve as a liason with major record labels in order to include material on the website and create promotions for it.  As of right now I am actually consulting an independent record label on opening another sister label to theirs that will focus in international (incl. Latin) and electronic music.  Since you asked, there it is.

Good luck anyways!

Alonso

Carlos,

If u have to ask then clearly u don't understand the scene and this ain't for u homie. Your joke's not funny BTW.

@ DJ Alonso:

Porque insistes con la misma pregunta. Ur intentions r obviously not positive. BTW, if u think the staff and onwers @ NYC r good people y would u throw Sh!T and bad vibes they're way in the first place?

The way I see this, u Sh!T ur pants once u found out who u were throwing crap @ and decided to try to make it sound better. So should we start calling u a B!tCh now or wait and see if u try to sabottage other nights organized by Latinos?

BTW: Why those TorontoHispano.com need an official DJ for? Especially one that doesn't even play at Latin clubs n e more.

Sorry to get all DIVA here, every1. I just can't stand to hear/see one Latino throw crapp at another Latino. How r we ever gonna grow as a community like that?!

I want to send mad shouts out to Third Wolrd Ent. fro doing there thing i will be there to support, i think this is a great idea if they did'nt do it i was going too. Much luv to all the promoters that are trying to chage the party scene in Toronto. Dont Forget Reggaeton Xplosion Part 1 @ Bamboo Cabana on Friday Feb 04/ 2005 featuring N.Y.C number one Reggaeton Dj Kazzanova.

It’s not what you think we can’t help when our birthdays fall on and we support Code Blue they are friends of ours. They are holding it down in the reggaeton and urban scene. The clients for these Jamz are two different kinds. We have our regulars and so does code blue you shouldn’t worry they will both be hype. Toronto promoters all work together and help each other out.

Respect to code blue and there new night

Well it seems that whenever a reggaeton event is about to happen. Sabor nuevo is ready to compete on that same day or is it just a coincidence. Its all about the marketing strategy, but im hoping many latinos well support the reggaeton events instead. Its all about new flavour in our latin atmosphere people

If you take my comment the wrong way anonymous, and choose to make a "novela" out of it, its up to you, I do not have anything against your night, genre of music, talent, or whatever it is you do in the industry.

Juan, good luck to you and your team, the staff and owners of NYC are good people.

There was two reasons why I asked this question, if you were aware of what happened outside that nightclub.

The two reasons are:

1 - promoters that take nightclubs that recently had such incidents happen, tend to have a much tougher time getting the night going because as you said, your support comes from both markets, and the urban market is aware of what happened there.  I can tell you from experience.  I am speaking from promoting experience.  Take it as you will.

2 - since this was on the press, it was your chance to reinforce that you are aware and are taking proper measures for your event, which you did, and thats great.

I mean it when I wish your team the best of luck and I agree with you that different genres should be exposed at the nightclub level in the city because Latin music is not just Tropical.

Now, back to the question at hand....which room will be reggaeton?

My Name is Juan, Im most-hi from code blue and i am in charge of spanish harlem nights. One thing I want to clear up is the shooting comment that this DJ alonzo made. First of all the shooting was not at NYC, , it was simply mentioned on he news as a landmark to describe where abouts the shooting took place.

Security is our # one priority for friday nights, we will be very exclusive at the door and pick and choose who comes to our party, dont underestimate the level that we are operating at, I have always been frustrated with our community in this regard, we need to stop resisting change in the latin amerian scene, the salsa clubs dont cut it anymore, they are boring to us and we have no problem with you all sticking to what you are comfortable with.

don get us wrong, we are not begging for attendance, we rely on our connections not on people off the street to succeed. we dont rely on latinos alone, this will be a crossover crowd, we rap and in the urban world we are recognized, so expect the black community to support us as well as latinos just like us, we are not at all alone.

SPANISH HARLEM NIGHTS
we are urban latinos, not gino latinos, we have been influenced by north american big city life, evolve and get off this back home out of date flex that you keep recycling, it does not cut it and the rest of toronto will never participate, stay away from our club if you are not a trend setter, we changing the game regardless of the hate, keep pumpin me with the fuel I need to crush the competition, you will fail against us, mark that.

I will ignore all the hate that may come after this unique opportunity that I get to tell you how its going down

Alonso,

I know you on a semi personal/professional level. I can't believe u stooped so low as to throw that comment @ the boys of Third World. Not cool at all, man. You can hide behind the pretext that ur the official TOHispano DJ hence the reason y ur vexed at promoters pumping events on the foro but you and I know that the tittle you probably gave your self is of no importance to anyone...CHILL, bro. Especially if you're the "official" TOHispano DJ. Keep it professional and keep B!Tch comments to your self...unless, of course, you want us to start calling u one.

And to the people that don't understand the name selection: IT'S ALL ABOUT MARKETING.

SPANISH HARLEM FRIDAYS @ NYC

What's so confusing about that?

Keep it real mi gente!

People who wanted a reggaeton night finally got one, and some people are all ready hating on it beacause of the name and the venue. You see this is why the t-dot is behind on the music because when some one is doing something for a crowd and it has not even started it getting bad publicity because of an insident, come people make love not war

Dj Alonso -- we know u didnt mean anythng bad by posting what happend not to long ago at this club but i mean its still bad publicity. But that just makes everyone more carefull so i see it in both ways the good and bad

If it isnt your all night requests then you know what to do right? DONT SHOW UP!, stick to babalus or plaza in that case. This club is going to be for true reggaeton fans such as myself, who enjoy a large amount of this music being played the whole night. Im tired of all these haters posting negative comments when it comes to reggaeton. Thats the reason why we were so behind in this music genere in the first place. Much respect for the people that are making this happen. I remember a year ago only a few people new about reggaeton, 2005 made the difference

Im a good friend of the promoters and i am a witness to the reggaeton acts their bringin down from puerto rico. they have a serious line up coming pretty soon.  thier club is going to be primarly reggaeton all night with a few sessions of latin music. this will definitely be the place to be every Friday Night.  To the haters, these are my friends you talkin about.  You don't like how their promoting or the name they chose, grow up and don't come. The club will still be successful. Finally latinos in the toronto club district. Im definitely bringing all my girls.

Mira, just check out their website and you will understand why they chose this name. Oh, and I agree with you 100%, it makes us Latinos look like idiots once again. It's almost like we enjoy and provoke the stereo-types to just keep on going. It would have been nice if we could be associated with something a little more classy.
