Feb. 04 2005 Charlie Moet & Caliente Ent. will bring you the first Reggaeton Xplosion

this event will be an all ages event, however there will be a hole floor for the 19& over crowd

Ay AY AY....I'm not going if there's gonna be a HOLE in the floor!!!!!!!

Nevertheless...ALL AGES?!?!?!? I'm sorry but with the youth of today, there's gonna be triple the problems at that Reggaeton event than there was at the Oro Solido event.

Ummm you guys didn't know there's a police station RIGHT BESIDE the Bamboo Cabana??? Instead of hiring your fiends that do it as a favour, you should hire REAL security personnel as in the Metropolitan Toronto Police. I'm sure half of them little f@ckers wouldn't be let in the first place.

Hector y Tito, Sir Speedy, Daddy Yankee, Tego Calderon, Lito Y Polaco, Don Chezina, Plan B, Nicky Jam, Wisin Y Yandel, Plan B....if you can think of somebody else, let me know. Oh and of course we have to include our local talent as an opening act, only courteous. Well, get back to me. Choose the top 3 that you think you would actually consider in spending some money on tix for. Once again, I am asking for a reason, and what better place than TH.
P.S. Also what would be a good time of year to do this. I have a time-period in mind, but I need all the input that I can get from you. Thanks in advance. Greatly appreciated.

For Genie:

1. Local talent is a different issue...but yeah, I support it (if I like their music)

2. promoters only want ur money 'cause they're businessmen and that's what business are there for (to get money)... and it's not because of my comments that they don't bring good talent here, it's because they don't want to take the risk for little profit. I can bet that most of our promoters don't have schooling in business administration, 'cause they don't know that sometimes for a business to succeed you have to start in the red.(meaning lose money, which business doesn't lose money at the beginning?), all they want is one concert, make money, and bye bye. I've worked for this industry, I know the risks...the company I used to work for didn't make any money until their 5th or 6th event, now they're a succesful business.

3. Nobody said paying 20 bucks to see a good concert was enough, I wouldn't mind paying 100+ to see a good show, look at all the concerts at the ACC, all of them are at that price range (yeah, I know you can get cheaper seats, but you might be better watching music videos at home), and they're all worth it.

We wanted to bring Don Omar to Toronto and Montreal but the unfortunate thing is he has a criminal record. This makes him a big risk in not being able to cross the Canadian border. We are a big fan of some reggaeton artists but for what they are charging only Don Omar would be a successful tour. Sorry you are just going to have to wait before we drop thousands of dollars on the smaller groups.

Tego and Daddy yankee have already been to montreal we only do two cities.

if you were a promoter and had to choose between:

A) a has-been old singer who won't charge much, or
B) a singer with at least one song in the current top 10 who will probably cost you 10 times more.

You get a full crowd anyhow....who would you choose?

that's why I don't go to most concerts... you want my money, you bring the talent I like.

This is the reason why Infinit Productions is throwing a puro Reggaeton Jam December 17, 2004 @ York University @ Glendon.

We need to promote more reggaeton. I have hundreds of Reggaeton tracks . It is hard to get them in Toronto. I usually buy them at islamusical.com . Check it out!

Yeah this is so true, T.O. is so behind in these genera, what is going on? We need a reggaeton concert here and fast!!!. Others u can look into besides the ones already mention are:

Yaga y Makie
Hector y Tito
Speedy
Zeon y Lennox

Montreal also had Tego Calderon a few months ago, and we did have Ivy Queen at Canada’s Wonderland but at that time not many people knew who she was so I think they should bring here back.

P.S.
Another reason is the DJ's at the clubs, they all play the same songs and some of them are not even that good, people don't really get exposed to this "new" genera.

This goes out for all the promoters and organizers, when the hell will there be a reggaeton conecert in Toronto??. The U.S has numerous shows events concerts happening every month..Damm even montreal had polaco y lito last month..but Toronto??..seriously..Oro Solido, Eddie Santiago, they r good artists BUT!!! comon people these guys had there time already, they are old news.. doesnt it make u think that we are soo far behind? When are we gonna  see daddy yankee don omar tego or ivy queen in concert, Reggaeton is the biggest latin music genere, in The U.S and latin america even in Spain , salsa merengue bachata is old news. And if you dont believe me, my friend talked to me about a recent visit to Miami ,and god damm!!! Reggaeton is as big as hiphop, dancehall reggae down there you can just here it in people cars clubs its soo mainstream..I know Torontos latin population is small BUT!! seriously u should take this into consideration I can bet u that a dady yankee or Don omar concert here will be just as pack or even more packed then Oro Solido's......just someting to think of !!One~
