I also found this (out of the city though)... If anyone else is interested
About $150 (after march break) with kitchenette and fire place... and outdoor heated pool and whirlpool
Thought it was pretty cheap... but nice

http://www.canadianhotelguide.com/ca/Ontario-hotels/Toronto-hotels/Strathcona_Hotel-hotel.html

go there its across from the fairmount royal york the rooms are smaller but they are cosy and its a clean hotel! really nice!

or go to the Best Western on 111 Carlton really affordable the rooms are nice and big and its not crazy expensive

I have stayed in both and liked them! if u want more downtown then go with the Strathcona if u want eaton center downtown then go with the Bestwestern

also if u just want to do like a mini get away i highly recommend the Crowne Plaza at Don Valley and Eglington its clean they have smoking rooms and a indoor pool and u get buffet breakfast with one night stay for 119bucks and valet parking really nice and that for a king size bed and mini suite they call it!
