If they really want you, they will wait for you. I'm sure they won't mind waiting another week or so.
Congrats

If love is the answer, could you rephrase the question?
sometimes i interview people (especially newcomers to the country or recently graduated students) and their salary demands are low... they just want to work... and i have to say to them: are you sure you're comfortable with that salary.. hint hint, ask for more... because i know that if i put them at a low starting salary i am not going to be able to get them up to a decent salary for a long time and they are going to leave on me.
Its a Marketing Coordinator Position Miguel.... not a secret....
And Chilenita I am getting 4 weeks vacation..... :)
I just sent an e-mail to them.... if they don't mind my trip... i will except it.... The salary is not as much as I will like we will see in the future...
What is the salary range for a start up position like this in Toronto? In Kitchener is usually 5,000 lower....
that depends on your experience and whether you have a degree, etc. that being said - about salary. keep in mind that you will only get a raise between 3 and 5 percent or so yearly.... which means you should take a starting salary you feel comfortable with, it takes a long time to work your way up to something you're comfortable with if you don't.
I agree with Miguel.

One thing many people forget to do is work out vacation time. I worked myself up to 5 weeks here but that took me YEARS. Now all the new hire peeps ask for 3 off the bat and usually get it.
CONGRATS!!!

it depends on how bad they need you , and how unique you are to the position. If it is a position that they have many aplicants i would cancel my trip and take it . If it is a position where you know you can ask for more money and ask them to let you take a week off (or one more week) then i would ask.
It all depends on the position and how bad they need you.
I hope this doesnt sound wrong , but there are some people that are in the postion to negociate many things before they accept the job and there are many people that are not in the same postion to do it.
I gave them a range during the interview but they came up with a lower number... but they will pay for 9 courses each at 800 dollars..... to get my BA in Management....
I think is a good offer.... I guess I will just explain the Vegas trip...
Wow, that sounds like a great offer... If they're allowing and encouraging you to grow and are even paying for it, that alone makes them a great company. Best of luck!

Thanks TV Buff, I guess I shouldn't ask for more money then.... since they are paying for some clases too.....
Thanks....
No, no... that's not what I meant.
They say "Ask and you shall receive" Or like they say en mi pueblo: el que no llora no mama. If you want more money, ask for it. If they want you, they'll give it to you. Although this should've been done in the interview process, it's better to do it now than later. Unless you're happy with what they're giving you, in which case, just take the job, I guess.

I agree with Buffsters - Just tell them the truth - that you have a vacation with tickets purchased and hotel reservations MAKING SURE TO POINT OUT THAT THIS WAS DONE PRIOR TO THE JOB OFFER. They should understand.
As for asking for more money - just tell them you will need some more gambling money for your vacation!

Just tell them the truth about your trip. They have to understand. If they don't, they're not the right employers for you.
If you ask them for more money, your Vegas problem will be solved.
