Is it for a man, a woman, a he-she? A she-he? Are you close? Does he/she have a sense of humour? Do you hate her, like him? So many variables to take into consideration. What not to do: Don't buy him/her a box of Cheerios or something. That's what a male co-worker of mine did once (not to me, thank Jebus), and it's been years and the story became a legend of "Whatever you do, DO NOT..."

My office has opted NOT to do Kris Kringle again. For the past three years we have opted to put that money collected - $20 per person - and donate it to a charity. We figure with $20 buckaroos most of us get stuff we don't really need o even want sometimes. May as well put it towards some people who may be down on their luck and appreciate it a little more.
