Those were three golden points for us...I'm very proud the way Colochos played, but I felt more proud of  Pinto (the coach) who has decided to left out the big names  like (Yepes, Cordoba, Calero, Chitiva) to start a new generation of new players that prove to be succesful in the youth categories (they were 3rd and 5th place in the previous youth world cups), it's a good start but the games against CHile and Uruguay are 6 points games, those are the ones that really matters now....anyway I feel content until next year;there is six months before the next game....I hope  they keep it up and none of the players get shot.

Venezuela beats Bolivia 5 - 3 taking advantage of an injured goalie en the last few minutes of the game. Venezuela is making some noise! Good for them!!!

Colombia beat Argentina 2-1. It seemed that Colombia took the game to them in the second half and took advantage of having an extra man after the Argie suspension. The ONE player on the Argie side that seemed desperate and tried a few solo-efforts to comeback and score another goal was Messi... Love the way he plays!

Y con estos resultados - the underdogs accumulating more points - the Ecua team falls further back in points in the standings. Si no nos ponemos las pilas, nos vamos a quedar afuera del mundial. I hope we win this afternoon. Kick off time is 4:30 p.m. Anyone know of a bar in the DOWNTOWN CORE that is showing the game?

I don't know of any in the downtown core. Closest and best bet is Plaza.

I think I will start getting sick right after 4:00 p.m. and leave work early - take a cab and go have some empanadas con cerveza to feel better ashamed.gif

Dicen que si - que Ecuador tiene ventaja en Quito, por la altura... and since Ecuador practices there and most Ecua players are already aclimatized, it is an advantage.  Right now, I will take any win with having an advantage or not - a victory is a victory.  We just don't have any yet in 3 games so far.

oh please that bulls*** quito has always been in the same place it didn't just move there a few years ago and ecuador has only been to 2 world cups.......if is true what u say what happen all the other times? did ecuador not want to win and let everyone else do so?

@mastropiero...I am actually not a huge Riquelme fan.  I think lately his free kicks have been amazing but something about his attitude bugs the hell out of me.hmm  Anyways hopefully Colombia can pull off a win.  I like them.

About Ecuador, they need the win but Peru played a great game yesterday and although they are missing some players next game they must be feeling confident.

Riquelme

Riquelme is what we call a "PECHO FRIO" ( I actually read this from el clarin user comments). Riquelme tends to slow down argentinaS game passing the ball back to the defenders most of the time, he does not run as much, he does not like to defend when the opposing team is attacking. However his passing skills , shots and free kicks are wonderfull.

Riquelme has been highly critizice for many fans for his style of play.
Also, many fans think with riquelme on the team , argentina depends too much on him , so if riquelme is having a bad game then argentina will have a bad game) , if riquelme is having a good game then argentina will have a good game

I know I'm a little biased, it might be a 0-0 ... don't think that Argentina can run 90 mins in Bogota (Riquelme and Boca where there only a few weeks ago and they sucked big time), but on the other hand los morochos chibchombianos can't score...
If Ecuador can't beat Peru in Quito, they'd better start thinking in the 2018 world cup.

I just hope is not a 5-0 game.

I HOPE it IS a 5-0 game... For Ecuador! w00t.gif LOL... Nah, I don't see it being another goleada either way; but Ecuador can't possibly do any worse than they have done so far - or can we?

Yes, Peru Tied powerhouse Brazil 1-1.  That certainly shows they are not doing bad at all.  Good for them!  I just want to stay positive and believe that we can do it... SI SE PUEDE!!! SI SE PUEDE!!! hmm

did u watch the game on sat?

Ecuador is going to need a lot more than just changing their coach, they need to change their whole team. hmm.gif

okay okay maybe not change the team but they do need to do something else to get them going again and the Peru game is too soon cry.gif plus Peru is not doing that bad.

I just hope is not a 5-0 game.
