Does any1 know if they grow back? (if u accidentally pulled them) LOL
ummm....well if you keep on pulling them out they won't grow back, but if it was only one time then yes, they wil grow back. Try not to pull them out anymore...otherwise they wont grow back anymore. Your eyelashes are like your eyebrows. Haven't you noticed that the more you pluck your eyebrows out the thinner and less they grow back...well your eyelashes are the same and eventually they wont grow back, so avoid plucking then out! Even if it's just by mistake....and well if you have long curly eyelashes like me then you have nothing to worry about...lol
That's interesting, because I'd like my nose and easr hair to stop growing already! So I might start plucking them ('ouch' to that thought) However.... I don't believe it. Otherwise, why do women who wax their legs keep growing hair on their legs? huh?
Ummm...ur nose hairs are not the same as eyebrows or eyelashes....they keep on growing back cus your nose hairs are meant to keep bacteria out of your body, which causes you to get the flu and colds for example, so no matter how much you pluck them...they will grow back...just keep on cutting them to keep them short that's all...lol
True, but your eyelashes aren't there just to hold mascara!! They have the same function as nasal hair. To keep dust out (not bacteria) Yet, they DON'T grow back? weird

Anyhow mine have been missing for a while now & nada, the weird part is that I have some, then none & then I got more. So I got a hole in the middle of my right eye, it's looks sooooo bad, I hate it.
AAAAWWW............El Pibe has a small space between his eyelashes.
Can't remember how but he burnt them on a BBQ.

My attention was first drawn to the practice of trimming eyelashes when someone emailed me to find out if it makes them grow longer and curl upwards.
My answer is NO. No it wont.
Apparently a lot of people do it. Well probably not a LOT, but enough to make this a persistent myth. In the same way that trimming your hair wont encourage it to grow (it will make it appear healthier and fuller though), trimming your eyelashes cant possibly make them grow longer. All hair is basically programmed by the hair follicle to grow to a certain length and have a certain life span. What you do after this is not going to make a blind bit of difference.
My advice: buy a good mascara. That will do wonders for the appearance of your eyelashes. Oh and on the same note: Ive also read about people plucking their eyelashes. Plucking. Their. Eyelashes.

Friday July 8, 2005 Previous | Next Dear Yahoo!: Do eyelashes grow back? Marty Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Dear Marty: Individual eyelashes fall out all the time. People who wear contact lenses know this fact all too well. Eyelashes take about four to eight weeks to grow back. These tiny hairs (with help from their cousins to the north) protect your eyes from dust and sweat -- you'd definitely notice a difference if you were to lose them. According to Yahoo! Health, the medical term for the severe loss of eyelashes is madarosis. People who suffer from hypothyroidism (an underperforming thyroid gland) often lose their eyelashes in small clumps. Damaging an eyelash follicle, or the small cavity that grows the hair, can also affect future eyelash growth.
The web abounds with tales of eyelash suffering and loss. This iVillage Q&A session isn't for the weak of stomach.
Message boards are also a good source of information on inordinate eyelash loss, though we recommend checking with your doctor before following anonymous advice.
Losing an eye lash here and there happens to all of us. It is perfectly normal to lose one or two eyelashes. A new eye lash will grow back in the hair follicle and replace the old one. As a person ages their eyelashes tend to thin out, this is normal process. But, some people lose eye lashes in clumps and they do not grow back. If this happens suddenly, you may be feeling confused and afraid.
Here is what you should consider if you lose a lot of eyelashes at once.
Alopecia areata could be the cause of losing your eyelashes. It is an autoimmune disease usually striking the scalp and causing your hair to fall out in clumps. This hair does not grow back. It can also cause eye lashes and eye brows to fall out and not grow back. There is no cure, but a dermatologist can give you shots of cortisone to prevent further damage to hair follicles.
Eye lashes that are falling out in clumps is a good indicator that you may have hypothyroidism. Hypothyroidism is a condition of an underactive thyroid which causes
many complications and symptoms mostly in women. Get your thyroid checked by your doctor (he will do a simple blood test)and he can put you on medication to get your
thyroid back in gear and help alleviate sparse eye lashes.
Something that all of us can do to protect our eye lashes is to treat them with care. A lifetime of using an eyelash curler or pulling and playing with them can cause them to
fall out. Continual trauma to hair follicles can do permanent damage. Only curl your lashes on special occasions or use one of the new curling wand mascaras to protect your eye lashes.
