It's bad when unfortunate things happen to people no matter how much money they have.
I do think it's strange how much media attention this is getting. Bush touring around in a helicopter.....making speeches about helping the people of california. I remember it taking a long time for him to get his arse to Katrina victums. Must be beacause they were poor and black.
I do have to admit I am still more worried about how Peru and Nicaragua are rebuilding right now. I think I'll keep my donations going that way.

Of course I feel bad for everybody who loses their home.A lot of people with money are very human and they contribute to a lot of good causes around the world. Most of them worked hard to get to where they are. They probably lost some memories and staff. Money does not make you more or less human. I feel bad for the ones who died. The other ones have insurance on their houses and will get their money back and will settle somewhere else.
A lot of people and latinos also lost their jobs there as maids, landscapers, painters, contractors ext.Those mantions employ a whole bunch of people all year long Those big houses, specially in California, pay a lot of taxes so the less fortunate and the lazy ones too can collect their checks every month.

I do feel a little bit bad... I mean even if they have the money... when you lose your house you lose all the memories right? I mean pictures and everything.
But I have to agree with both of you. This people have lots of money you can tell. And God I am sure they will get more help that Katrina victims....
or secretly r u thinking...well, it is malibu, and all those homes are insured PLUS they are celebrities who have millions and millions of dollars to recuperate with, or simply they can move to one of thier other properties those celebs have?
im just sayin....Katrina was bad cuz alot of em were poor, but most of those homes in malibu r 4 ppl with some serious cash, no?
