BOYS and GIRLS it's this SIMPLE: In fact, the size of each shape (2 triangles and the other funny shapped thingies) are THE SAME SIZE to their corresponding/matching shape in both graphic A and graphic B.

By changing THE PLACEMENT of each shape alone (not increasing size) and purposely leaving the empty "hole" (square) at the bottom, makes the OVERALL triangle shape appear bigger. However, the inner AREA of the OVERALL SHAPE (triangle MINUS little square box that is missing) REMAINS THE SAME!!!

I only see her turning CLOCKWISE:

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

When trying to "focus" to try and have her turn the other way, I only seem to manage to see her slow down and that's it... BTW, She's got nice T&A!

The Right Brain vs Left Brain test ... do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?

If clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa.

Most of us would see the dancer turning anti-clockwise though you can try to focus and change the direction; see if you can do it.

LEFT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses logic
detail oriented
facts rule
words and language
present and past
math and science
can comprehend
knowing
acknowledges
order/pattern perception
knows object name
reality based
forms strategies
practical
safe

RIGHT BRAIN FUNCTIONS
uses feeling
"big picture" oriented
imagination rules
symbols and images
present and future
philosophy & religion
can "get it" (i.e. meaning)
believes
appreciates
spatial perception
knows object function
fantasy based
presents possibilities
impetuous
risk taking

I don't know the formal explanation but to me it has to do with available area left after ocuppying the 'tip' of the triangle.   The extra space is made available because of the inherent properties of the triangle and the and the larger available area.

what do you mean?

If you compare each coloured triangle from graphic A to the matching coloured triangle of graphic B - they have the same number of squares diagonally and vertically (red = 8 squares accross x 3 diagonal and the dark green triangle = 5 accross x 2 diagonal)

The other ones, there is no doubt are identical, except that they have been placed in a different position.

the triangles are diff sizes.

That's the only way it would be possible - but counting the number of squares they APPEAR to be same amount vertically and accross.
