New York --(Sept. 7, 2007)- One of the most original freestyle rap battles in the world Red Bull Batalla de los Galloswill host U.S. qualifying competitions in New York this September to definitively crown the country's best Latin freestyle MC.  Anyone interested in registering for the battle should log on to http://www.perrealo.com/batalla/

This year Red Bull Batalla De Los Gallos will feature some of New York's hottest Radio personalities, Artist & Label Executives on the judging panel.   Having years of experience in spotting raw talent, these judges all come from backgrounds that will allow not only fairness but true-world experience in deciding who will reign as the U.S. Champion.  Reaching Millions of listeners between them, DJ Creme ( La Mega 97.9 FM & C.E.O. of The Commissioners DJ Squad) & DJ Hostile (Chosen Few DJ, The Commissioners DJ Squad) will be judging as on vote and selecting on their past experience as some of the most notarized DJ's within the Latin Hip Hop Genre. DJ Creme being one of the very first DJ's to EVER play Reggaeton in the United States played an integral part of the Reggaeton explosion that occurred with the last few years. He comes into Red Bull Batalla De Los Gallos with not only with a flair for it but also past experience having judged last year's event as well.

Other well known DJ's that will be judging include Johnny Famolari (La Mega 97.9 FM) Alex Sensation (La Mega 97.9 FM) along with DJ's we also have Johnny Marines manager of the Hottest Latin Boy Group in the world (Aventura) Johnny is the only judge returning as judge for the 3^rd straight year.   And this year we bring you one of the most popular artist's out of the Bronx, NY Cuban Links. He will be judging as one of the only Spanish Speaking Artist's in Hip Hop and having had experience within the Music industry knows what makes a Good MC and will decide so Sunday Sept. 9, 2007 when we crown the top MC's to enter this years Final.

 Last year's competition brought down the house. Nearly 100 emcees registered for the battle but only one would walk away with the crown and the title of "El Mejor." Eight hundred fans packed Show Nightclub to witness  Sami Cultura from Los Angeles dominate the mic and walk away with props and a ticket to Columbia to compete for the international title.  

This year, the Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos U.S. qualifier turns up the heat by hosting an extended competition that spans two days.  Round one will be held at Ibiza Nightclub in the Bronx, New York on September 9 and is open to freestyle lyricists nationwide who think they have what it takes to be called "el mejor."  The top 8 emcees from this competition will advance to the final round of the U.S . competition which will be held in New York on September 23. 

HOW IT WORKS

During each battle, the "Gallo" (term used to identify the competitors) has exactly one minute to demonstrate his ability before his opponent. A panel of respected judges from within the Hip Hop community will decide who's got the skills to advance.  The U.S. champion will win an all expense paid trip to Venezuela to battle in the international competition on October 27, 2007 alongside 15 MCs from other Spanish/Castilian speaking countries. In the end, one MC will stand apart and be crowned "Gallo Mayor."  

The Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos is the first ever international MC competition to bring together the top Latin freestyle lyricists from around the world to decide "quien es el mejor" (who is the best).  Last year,

Rayden, the lyricist from Spain won the 2006 international championship in Columbia and will return to defend his title in Venezuela this year.  MC Frescolate from Argentina was the first to capture a Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos championship during the 2005 competition in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  

Created and produced by Red Bull Energy Drink as a platform for hundreds of aspiring Hip Hop stars to express their art, in an original and uncensored way, Red Bull Batalla de los Gallos highlights the uniqueness of Latin Hip Hop and distinguishes its style independent of North American and European Hip Hop.  MCs from the U.S., Puerto Rico, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, Paraguay, Venezuela, Cuba, and Honduras have competed in past events.  

This year as always we will have DJ Big Jeff spinning the entire night, Big Jeff has become the Batalla DJ and has been doing the event for the last 3 years.   Bringing to the table a good combination of mixing and liveliness that can only be experienced at the event.  Hosting the event will ne J Dubs (Latin 96.3 FM, The Roof & LA Connection) being an MC himself J Dubs will have everyone hyped up as we watch History unveil itself to us.  Co-Hosting will be this years recipient of Justos Mixtape Award DJ Willie ( www.DJwillie.com ) noted as one of the BEST blend DJ's and one of the most recognized Street Mixtape DJ's in the Latin market Willie will have us all reacting to what will be taking place this weekend/
