What about the EMS/fireman/police workers using the "Support our troops" stickers/ribons in the abmbulance, firetrucks ....and when they were asked to remove them...they went bananas....
Nothing wrong with showin support to the troops but those are not their vehicles, if they want to show support they can do it on their own vehicles....don't ya think ?
i agree with julie on this one. i statue or memorial would be more of a stamement. a stretch on the highway just doesnt do these fallen soldiers justice in my opinion. i like the idea of a eternal flame...that way the fight and struggles of these soldiers will never be forgotten. but a stretch on the highway??? people probably wont even know they are driving on it!!
@ Quixote...but remember that pple tend to forget what happened in the past and/or they don't care because they were not affected by it...which couldn't be more wirng but oh well. I guess this is another example of the North American culture.
Minument or Landmark would be the right thing to do with an eternal flame or something.

At the risk of sounding cold I think a monument or some landmark would have best suited the fallen soldiers.
The 401 has traffic, problems and claims deaths of its own.
Or at the very least it should have been broadened to commemorate ALL fallen soldiers and not just fallen soldiers from Afghanistan. According to this link there have been around 70 Canadian casualties in Afghanistan since 2002.
