I don't know what a ghetto fabulous moment is, but i guess it was when i went tubing on the snow back home...only instead of sleds, we sat on garbage bags and slided down the hill.

Or when we jumped into the rivers on truck tires (not tires...the tube that goes inside the tires).

Or when we took hard boiled eggs to snack on the beach (haha i never actually did that).

ok pero mi punto era que en Peru llamar pituco a alguien no es un insulto o tenerle envidia ...existen otros terminos que muestran eso .. pituco es un termino para joder , molestar, pero sin ofender.. A mi aqui mis amigos me dicen pituco aveces porq mis papas tienen una casa grande, carros etc pero a mi no me molesta .. aunque claro aveces usan otros terminos que si te joden..

Anywhore, back to the topic of this thread. Growing up we lived in soooooo many places; some of them were ghetto, some of them were not, but we never considered ourselves ghetto because, like my wise mother used to say, being poor does not equal being guetto. She didn't really say "guetto" 'cause 1) she spoke no English and 2) She didn't and still doesn't know what that word means. So substitute ghetto with dirty/foul-mouthed/lazy, etc, etc, etc. You get the point.

Yeah you can live in a ghetto area and not be ghetto for sure!!  Especially when you are a new immigrant.  There are many highly educated people that had to come to Canada to work in whatever and live wherever.  Also not having money or a high education does not make you ghetto.
