@ MJ...how did you ruin his first proposal...poor guy.... ...and BTW...good taste....
I was just reading some e-mails..............and I found an e-mail between him and his friend..............and his friend asked him, "So when are you going to propose?" and El Pibe said, "In September".

I hope the day i buy a ring, she decides to sell it back, and use the money for something actually useful.
I don't know, you'd have to be a woman to understand. I'm very, very, VERY practical with money and I totally understand the "I rather give a downpayment for a house" way of thinking (which is in fact what we did). But there's always that feminine side of you (not you, YOU, Daeveed... I'm talking women in general) that always longs for the ring. Having said that, I do think it's a waste of money and I'm happy with having a house instead, but that's just me being me and not romantic at all. Besides, I'm known for losing jewelry.
@ MJ: You're such a surprise-ruiner. Serves you right!

The jeweller who came up with this trend was a genius, though!
Agreed! I dont want homeboy to feel obligated to go into debt for a silly little ring. I would honeslty rather have a super wicked green stone or something... rather than just a run of mill regular ol diamond. I understand that society has made it out that diamonds are a girls best friend... but not really. I'd rather he give me something that is totally me and not something that everyone else has. I would appreciate something unique that has me written all over it, rather than something everyone else has.
The diamond industry is a corrupt one as well... Sierra Leone anyone?
i dont like big flashy engagement rings!! Orale knows the day he decides to do it i want a simple white gold sapphire ring thats it i love blue and dont want a diamond!!

How is it a surprise if you already know he's going to propose??? The only thing that will be a surprise is the timing, then?

See idealy I would LOVE a min. of 1 carot round diamond, clear as crystal, with little diamonds around the band, and with a ancient, back in the old days look, Colour is not an issue to me, cus I like both, but for my ring I think white gold makes it look nicer , but I'm also aware they are crazy, crazy expensive. Now I know I probably won't get that (cough, unless i get a rich b/f) j/k , so I will settle for wat ever I get as long as it's not a tiny, tiny diamond were no 1 can see, then i'll be ofended.

I think it's up to the guy to buy the one they pick, can afford, etc. but I've already shown him sample of rings I like, so he can work from that, that way he's not sooo clueless.
THANK YOU!!!
i agree.. suggestions good ... saying "GET THIS" bad
Ok, you guys are right!
I would never tell him "PICK THIS ONE" but I have been saying, "I like this and this AAAAAAANNNNNNDDDDDDD this..............." Hopefully he's got a pretty good idea.

Picking the wedding band is different. Because you both will be wearing it. It would make no sense if they didn't match at least a bit.

but if she already KNOWS he's going to propose then why not? it's not like Pibe hasn't already asked MJ to marry him.. she knows, he knows, so getting something they pick together is just part of being partners in life, no? Do engaged couples not pick the wedding bands together? it's the same thing kinda. i say if you're not going to buy it together, make a few suggestions, like I prefer white gold over yellow and have him make the final decision with your preferences in mind.
